CLUB MAHINDRA KANDAGHAT RESORT


Imagine a place hugged by lush green undulating peaks and cotton clouds

b) Departmental hierarchy and inter department co-ordination
c) Key System and procedure adopted for different activities in each department
OBJECTIVE:The Objective is to study the total operational aspects of each department and the
present status of Club Mahindra Resort
METHODOLOGY:With evolution to study information is gathered from following sources.

A) Primary Source:- The Primary data was collected during solution traditional in
various departments and the interview with hotel personnel.
B) Secondary Source:- The data was collected from several books, Journals,
Magazines, Newspaper brochures, internet, etc.
LIMITATION:-

It is the very difficult task to understand the product.

In starting I was faced how they are collect the data.


In survey I was not aware the proper way in shimla, this problem was faced
by me.
PURPOSE:Different hotels have different ways perform their operations. Hotel industry is
very service based industry and lot of variations is made as per guest satisfaction.
The purpose is to analyze the current status of the restaurant and operations going
under.

FRONT OFFICE DEPARTMENT
The front office of a hotel is an operating unit and is the most suitable department
as the hotel and fundamental reasons for hotel existence. In Hotel Holiday Inn
Take Away department performs the duty of front office by allocating one
particular assistant to assist customers to log-in dine. The time customer enters the
hotel the desk assistant assist the customers by
directing them depending on their class of needs.
Front office is the nerve centre of a hotel and as
such is an excellent place in which to gain a
detailed understanding of how a modern lodging
operates. A position in the front office in an ideal
launching pad for future advancement in the
hotel industry.

Front office is responsible for the sale of the room through systematic method of
reservation, assigning by registration to the costumers. This is also termed as
house of all information. Front office is also responsible for greeting guest,
managing rooms and handling complaints. Many members of the hotel staff wok
behind the scenes and rarely if ever, have any personal contact with guests. In
contrast the front office staffs perform its job before the public like actors on the
stage.
The front office in a hotel hold the prime importance in view of the basic nature of
business of a hotel i.e. to sell room revenues collected for the sale of the room is
very high.
A room is termed a sold for the day when a guest leaves for the rooms for the
stay in the hotel. It has complementary role of image which is the first and last
point of contact for every guest. If one loss at each component of a front office role
one could have a better Perceptions of this department, smaller hotels are satisfied
to call it simple hotel reception.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES SERVICE DEPARTMENT


Food and beverages service department is that where we must consider how to
organize the service of cooking food. Which is one part of the game? Many times it
is not the food but the great show in the service which attracts and wins the guest to
your side. Hence, prompt and
courteous services should be the
motto of the F & B service staff.
Food and beverages services are
also known as hospitality catering
service. This is the second revenue
earning department in the hotel.

restaurant manager, banquet manager, station head establishment in which one

finally decides to work is available in hotels and restaurants, catering, resident

HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT
The housekeeping department is the most vital part of any organization
either for restaurant or any organization for that matters.

It upkeeps the

organizations flow of work, which could be interrupted by any of the unmaintained section.

Housekeeping department maintain the organization by

keeping the organization clean and uphold the working atmosphere.


In Club Mahindra Resort
this department is operationally
linked to the service section
(Manager Affil), it is the duty of
the manager to look after the
cleaning and maintenance of each
department especially the service
areas. The duty allocation to the
housekeeping staff is assigned by the manager himself.
There are mainly two (2) categories made in housekeeping staff:
1. Floor area
2. Public area
Floor area:
This area refers to those which come under service area and other
departments which are inter-connected to each other. There is a shift procedure
followed by the housekeeping department so that no misplacement should take

place and there shall be a continuous work going on of up keeping the toil of
maintenance throughout the other departments.

FUN ZONES
Resort provide our members with various
options to keep adults, teens and kids
entertained during their holiday at the
resort. These activities include outdoor
activities such as rappelling, river crossing,
rope bridges, camping, hikes, water sports
and indoor activities ranging from craft,
pottery and dance classes to pool tables,
table tennis and board games. In addition,
we also organize and facilitate activities
outside the resort which are destination
specific, such as picnics, sight-seeing trips,
heritage visits, game spotting and bird
watching.

SECURITY DEPARTMENT
In a hotel the security departments is responsible for the safety as its resident
by maintaining law and orders in the hotel. It protects the property products assets,
reputation. In other words, security is defined as those as will to promote a state as
will being relation to an establishment to protect lies and property and to minimize
the risk of man made disasters and crime.

In Hotel Holiday Inn security department is outsourced to private security


agency which holds the responsibility of providing the sufficient manpower to
securitize the hotel premises.
Duties and responsibilities of security department
To guard the entrance gate of the hotel
To oversee the crowd and manage the vehicle parking in the hotel premises
To maintain the daily attendance register

The entry and exit of all items as well as people

things are checked by the security and then
allowed to be taken inside.

(Tamil Nadu), 225 acres of land at Kas in Satara (Maharashtra), 10.5 acres of land
at Theog near Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), and 142.5 acres of land in Varwade near
Ratnagiri (Maharashtra).
