The Nobel Prize Series is debuting in India during Vibrant Gujarat Global
Summit 2017. By bringing together Nobel Laureates, other experts and
lifelong learners, the Series aims to stimulate innovation and creative
thinking amongst young students of science.
This edition of the Series will include a Nobel Media Exhibition and a Nobel
Laureates Conference. The Nobel Media Exhibition will be inaugurated by
the Honble Prime Minister of India on January 9, 2017. The Exhibition will
run for five weeks showcasing the science behind those innovations that
have won the prestigious Nobel Prize, and how the underlying science has
impacted the lives of people across the world.
Key attractions during the exhibition include 5 pavilions on 5 different
themes:
1) The Nobel Prize It will provide an introduction to the Nobel
Prize and its areas
2) Alfred Nobel It will give an insight to Alfred Nobels life, his
inventions and industrial operations, and the background to his
will
3) The Nobel Prize Over the Decades It will give an overview of
the history of the Nobel Prize, and of the Laureates and their work
4) The Nobel Prize in our Daily Lives It will demonstrate the link
between Nobel Prize-awarded efforts and phenomena in everyday
life
5) The Nobel Prize and the Future It will address the question of
how Nobel Prize-awarded discoveries may affect the future and of
what future Nobel Prize may involve
The Global Trade Show would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri
Narendra Modi at the Helipad. 91% of the total area has been already been
allotted to various international, national and trade organizations. The
remaining 10% will be allotted in next few days.
The Nobel Laureates conference is titled as the Nobel Dialogue and will
be held on January 10. It will be inaugurated by Honble Union Minister of
Science & Technology, Dr. Harsh Vardhan. It will include two themes:
a. Basic or Applied Research
b. Local Research, Global Impact
Apart from the Nobel Laureates, this conference will be also attended by
eminent Indian Scientists, dignitaries from the government and industry
leaders.
As part of the Series, a nationwide Ideathon contest was launched for young
students across India. They were expected to come up with innovative ideas
based on science for the cause of Indias development. The most
outstanding ideas will be showcased during the Nobel Prize Series - India
2017 and the students will get a unique opportunity to meet the visiting
Nobel Laureates. It is expected that such a national ideathon competition
will inspire young students to pursue science for higher studies and apply
their knowledge through entrepreneurship and innovation for societal
benefit.

Government along with the renowned international non-profit association,
based in Switzerland, focused on multi-sector/ multi-stakeholder
collaboration in transformational projects for a more sustainable, equitable
world known as The Value Web (TVW)
