Art is sensitivity, compassion, and the quintessence of life. Teaching

Visual Art is just as much about teaching Humanity as it is about teaching the
Arts themselves. Art is highly applicable to any other subject, making it integral
to the deeper understanding of all other fields of study. Creativity is natural to
children, and when they inevitably ask why? an art teacher must be able to
provide a response that fuels that curiosity.

EXPERIENCE
Associate Teaching at Britton-Deerfield Schools (Britton
Building). Teaching K-3 and High School courses (Fall 16)
Studied at Oxford University and University of York (Summer
16)
Field Experience at Onsted Elementary, Lincoln Elementary,
and Michener Elementary as well as Adrian High and Blissfield
High School.
Over 30 hours of volunteer work at the HOPE center.
180+ hours of volunteer work at the Salvation Army, Goodwill,
Adrian Crosswell Opera House, Relay For Life, Adrian Parks
for clean up and landscaping, and many other Lenawee
County organizations.
Chef/Waiter at Governor Crosswell Tea Room (Fall 15-Spring
17)
Attended MAEA Conference (2015)
Attended multiple workshops with VAEL (Visual Arts
Educators of Lenawee)
Volunteer work at Alexander (2013-14, Lincoln (2013-14), and

PERSONAL
I am Samuel Austin Millett and I attend Adrian College for Art
Education (K-12 certification). I graduated from Onsted High
School in 2012, and was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in
Columbus, OH and Onsted, MI. I love the arts for all their
splendor and versatility across human life.
