ACTION RESEARCH PROPOSAL


TARDINESS IN SCHOOL OF GRADE 9 STUDENTS
TOPIC
Punctuality is one of the virtues beyond reproach. If we have this kinds of virtue,
much of the time and wealth will be saved in every Filipinos. Punctuality will include all
the positive actions in all aspects. Though it was less appreciated in other situations like
productivity against punctuality, none the less, it is still very vital in situations that
needed it most.
This study will determine the factors/reasons affecting students in their daily
routing during school days. Always and often times being tardy in the flag ceremony, in
attending classes after recess time in the morning and afternoon class sessions and
during the first period in the afternoon class session. There are observed situations that
during their transfer of room in their specializations subjects and other activities that
needs outdoor activities, they are behind schedule in attending to it.

RESEARCH QUESTION
The main problem of this action research aimed to figure out the reasons of tardiness in
school.
Specifically, the study answered the question:

What are reasons that results tardiness among grade 9 section 2 students on their first
period in the afternoon class session?

DATA PRESENTATION
This study is an action research concerning forty-five (45) Grade 9 section 2 students in
Kalalake National High School, school year 2016-2017.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION


Based on the performance and attendance gathered from each subject teacher,
all of the forty-three (43) students showed punctuality and good performance in all
subjects. Two (2) students showed no difference in their attendance performance and
needs more lecture in time management.
Upon making students learned time management, they also learned the
importance of being punctual. We are not only developing our students knowledge and
skills but we must teach them how to be a better person.

CONCLUSION
Students tardiness can be solved with the support coming from their parents and
teachers.

RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Each subject teacher must call the attention of those students who are always
late and report it to the adviser.
2. Advisers must identify the reason affecting the attendance of their student and
coordinate with its parents or guardian.
