There could be more classroom time. A lot of material is put in this class. Also, lab
days felt rushed. I would have like more time for lab and one less clinical day.
Q3
The course is through a short period of time and information is fast and heavy, having
one day of class per week was difficult and some information needed more class
discussion that we didn't have time for during class hours and ended up going over
during review that was scheduled at different times and not everyone was able to

I wouldn't say this course needed to be improved, but rather the rest of the courses in
this program be revised to make students critically think as much as this one. This
would greatly improve the preparedness of the students beginning this course.
Minor things like the last lab before the third exam. Difficult having class after the

Buy a recorder due to the amount of classroom discussion lead teaching.
Be familiar with the A&P, your review notes for each exam should help you for your
final exam so make them detailed enough to understand at the end of the class for
review
Study using the resources you have (books, handouts, etc) because that is the closest
representation of the course material. Spend a lot of your time studying and just push
through to the end. If you have questions, ask them because this is the final med surg
class before you are a nurse. Take all the help you can get from other students,
teachers, and nurses.
STUDY! Record the lectures and listen to them multiple times. Do practice questions
frequently.

should try to break things down more for students that may have a difficult time
understanding. Because information is being pulled from so many sources then the
teacher should go over what is the most important nursing interventions and
medications.

This is a difficult question because the instructor was teaching exactly as the program
specifies. This is not the best way for students to learn. Yes, we should always be
prepared and ready to use our knowledge in the classroom, but there is nothing
better than hearing the basics. I read prior to class, took notes before lecture, and
studied over 20 hours for each test. I enjoyed her teaching, I just wish we had more of

In every class the shift of power is in the teachers favor but it was more so in this
class. I feel that I was able to argue question on the exam well but was refused the
points where as others that had not argued their point well received credit. It would
appear as if preferential treatment was given. I felt the teacher was not approachable
although she verbalized that she was.
Information on test should be focus of teaching in more detail
I finished this class with a grade I am proud of because I dedicated so much time to
my personal reviews and study time. I sacrificed my time with husband, family, and
friends; I declined dinners and functions to study for this class. This is NURSING
school, and paying for a class does not mean you are handed a passing grade.
These instructors are preparing the students for a job that not everyone is cut out for.

This is by far one of the worst class experiences I have ever had, not just at DelTech.
Coming to class with the expectation that on the day of a test, the night before I read
300 pages and can participate in class activities with the knowledge required is a
joke. The resources had inaccurate information (per instructor) yet we are tested on
the information in that book for points added to our final. The teachers inability to
teach the class (because she is a "rule follower") when the whole class is struggling is
a bad reflection on the program. The students in this class struggled, yes the teacher
was available, but would suggest you talking to Ms. Aubrey, then come and talk to
her. I feel as the the instructor is a great clinical instructor, she is very knowledgeable.
I feel she would be an asset in the classroom if she was free to teach, or provide
some guidance to students so they don't feel overwhelmed and without support. I
hope that this class can find someway to become more stu
This course was just an extremely stressful course...I believe that where most of us
as students had a good, solid grasp on the information that there should've been a
higher success rate for exams. Many of us felt blind-sided by the final whereas it was
much more difficult questions than the exams themselves; many feel we were set up
to fail.
I feel as if the exam content is much harder than what is presented in class. I do not
feel well prepared to take any of the exams including the final. No matter what I
studied, I still felt that what was presented in class and the purple book was not
inclusive of exam material. I think that more learning methods should be implemented

My experience with this class has not been good. I do not understand how from NUR
170- 201 we have had class lectures that have been excellent, to now having a
"flipped classroom" that obviously does not work. I feel like I'm basically paying all this
money to teach myself! Mrs. Hazel is full of knowledge, but I don't see the point of
going to class if she's not teaching. Putting everyone in groups to teach each other
topics we don't know about is crazy. If we have to have this type of learning then
maybe Mrs. Hazel should put up power points were she lectures in them instead of
power points that have nothing on them. My class has told her how we feel on
numerous occurs, but it seems like she ignores us.
I think that the whole idea of flipped classroom needs to be addressed. I think that the
