Thistwoquartersequenceexploreshowhumanrightshavebeenconstructedacross
transnational,imperial,national,andlocalspacesinavarietyofcivilizationalvernaculars
whileexposingstudentstotheircontestedgenealogies,limits,andsilences.Weexplore
thehistory,philosophy,andrhetoricofhumanrightsthroughavarietyofdisciplinary
lenses.Thesequenceisprimarysourcedrivenanddiscussionbased,withreadingsdrawn
fromarangeoftextsfromthepoliticalandthelegaltotheliterary,aural,andvisual.
