Task: Write a 600-word argument exposition in response to the following question:
How does Bran Nue Dae use characters, songs and visions/dreams to make reference to
the many different issues regarding Indigenous Australians?

Instructions:
PART 1: DRAFT ARGUMENT EXPOSITION
Before watching the film Bran Nue Dae, select which issues, character, song and vision/dream you
will be focusing on. While watching the film, take notes on your chosen aspects; this will help you
to begin drafting your exposition.
PART 2: REVISE AND IMPROVE ARGUMENT EXPOSITION
Once you have drafted your exposition, ask your peers to provide you with feedback.
Tip:

Your exposition will be assessed based on how accurately you demonstrate the correct
exposition structure and language features.
Your persuasiveness will also be measured by how successfully you use complex nominal
groups, verb shades of meaning, foregrounding, modality, passive voice, nominalisation,
text connectives, and cited sources (paraphrased, quoted and referenced etc.
