engineering
Adjust the Navigator, so that (in all tabs) objects will be displayed sorted by their names
and not alphabetically
NOTE:
Opening a COMOS database and existing COMOS projects and the use of the
context menu (right-mouse-button) for creating objects in the Navigator are
supposed to be well known to you and are not part of this document.
Always read the full information and the notes within one chapter and then follow them by

Answers:
1. A function with manual engineering contains no request objects or manufacturer
devices for measuring or actuating. They need to be created manually.
When creating a template based function pre-defined request objects / manufacturer
devices will be created automatically, e.g. device request, channel request, request for
terminals for field and marshalling panels, loop diagram.

treatment you shall create a position and two functions (below the position).
Create the following objects:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
A channel request for control of type Digital input (w/o EX saftey) (function Level)
7.
A channel request for control of type Analog output (w/o EX saftey) (function
Actuators)
For the engineering of the control unit, use a modular SPS S7 300. The control unit shall be
mounted in a cabinet. This cabinet shall be located in room 004 in building 1.
All modules shall be mounted on a rail 6ES7 390-1AB60-0AA0 (profile rail, 160mm).
Create the following objects:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

2.4
The distribution network shall contain a marshalling panel with terminal strips and a field
panel with terminal strips.
The marshalling panel shall be located in the room K04 in the operation building, the
location of the field panel shall be Grid AB01.
Create the following objects:
1.
A cabinet - as a marshalling panel (MP) with control and field bay - in room K04
2.
3.
4.

Introduction
This tutorial intends to convey the marshalling and connecting via loop diagrams.
You will
Set references between objects from the unit and location structure
Always read the full information and the notes within one chapter and then follow them by
your own. The steps / chapters are sequently, so it is not possible to leave one out.
If you need support, talk to the trainer. If no trainer is available, use the figures in chapter 3.
The screenshots presented in this document are for reference use only.
NOTE:
It is required that you have processed the tutorial I&C: Control units and
panels in advance and that you have opened the engineering project
Training I&C (released area) with your default access.
2/8
NOTE:
2.1
For the following steps, use the context menu (right-mouse-button) or the tab
Base objects.
For starting this tutorial create a working layer with the name SP below the released area
and open it afterwards.
Use this working layer for the next steps.
2.2
Create objects of type Cable, unspecified for the cabling of the field devices to the field
panel and below the corresponding basic engineering folder of the functions. Enter 2 x 2 x
0,5 mm as description.
Afterwards, create four wires (with labels: 1, 2, 3, 4) for each cable.
2.3
For each of the two channel requests for a control unit in the subunit Secondary treatment,
insert an implementation pointer, as indicated below:
Request
Implementation
=WESN.RE.HR.U211.L.A10ELM001(999)
+SESN.BH01.EG.004.S001-A01-0-304 (E0.3)
=WESN.RE.HR.U211.Y. A10ELM001(999)
+SESN.BH01.EG.004.S001-A01-0-402 (AW2)
NOTE:
2.4
For the subunit Secondary treatment, insert a pointer to field location AB01. For doing so,
drag the location from the Navigator in the appropriate field within the properties of the
subunit (via drag & drop).
2.5
Create for each function from position U211 one loop diagram and open the diagrams one
after the other. If not done yet by the automatism, connect the placed devices (page area
Field) with the implemented channel requests (page area Control). Use the tool
Connection and the mode Write.
On the writing connections, place the terminals of the marshalling panel and the field panel
and the cables 2 x 2 x 0,5 mm manually, so that you get a connection engineering between
control and field devices, as shown in the following tables.
3/8
For doing so, place the terminals and the cables at the corresponding positions in the loop
diagrams (via drag&drop).
