1. Define tissue. List the four major types of tissue. Which of these types is
most widely distributed in the body?
A group of cells with same function and composition. Four major types: Epithelial,
connective, Skeletal, and muscle. The most common is connective.
2. Describe the general characteristics of epithelial tissue. List the most
important functions of epithelial tissues, and give examples of each.
No blood vessels, cells packed tightly together and form continuous sheets.

Functions are secretion (glands), protection(cavities), and absorbtion ( intestines)
3. Where is ciliated epithelium found, and what role does it play?
Respiratory tract, contains goblet cells that secrete mucous. The cilia
helps move particles along the body.
