1)Takenecessarysafetyprecautionandarrangegaggingtoolandrecently
calibratedmastergaugeandgagothersafetyvalve.
2)Thesetpressureofthesafetyvalvewillbegivenbyclassanditwillbesame
asprevioussetpressure.
3)Safetyvalvepressuresettingcanbedonefromhightolowpressureorvice
versa.
4)Raisetheboilerpressurebymodulatingthefiring.Whenthepressurereaches
nearertothesetpressuremaintainthepressurebyoperatingstartupventor
dumpingsteam.
5)Slowlyraisetheboilerpressureandblowoffthesafetyvalvemanuallyfew
timesforthermalexpansionandtoreducethethermalstressonthevalves.
6)Whentheboilerpressurereachestosafetyvalvesetpressureobservethe
safetyvalveisliftedornot.
7)Whenthevalvesitsback,notedowntheresetpressure.Controlofdrumlevel
isimportanttoavoidpossibilityofwatercarryoverfromdrumintothesuper
heater.
8)Thesetpressureisadjustedbyeithertighteningorlooseningtheadjustingnut.
Tighteningthenutincreasesthesetpressureandviceversa.Blowdownwhichis
thedifferencebetweenset&resetpressureshouldnormallybewithin5%ofthe
setpressure.
