To all Y4 Students of 2016:

For you to learn well for Mathematics in Y5, you need a strong foundation and it is essential
that you consolidate your learning during the break. You are advised to spread out the
questions over the entire break so that you are practising continually. This will help you to
retain and consolidate your knowledge.
You will find the following documents in Dropbox under 02 Revision/2016 Y4
Consolidation for Y5 folder.
1. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set A)
2. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set B)
3. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set C)
4. Assumed Knowledge for JC H2 Maths
For students under the 100 hour programme:
On top of these 3 sets, you have additional questions to help you with your revision. You
should start to refer to the other announcement for details.
For ALL students:
You have to complete the following
1. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set A)
2. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set B)
3. 2014 O Level Additional Mathematics Papers 1 and 2 (found at the last section of the
TYS). (Exclude P1 Q5 and P2 Q10)
You are required to self-mark and submit your written solutions to your Y5 math tutors at
the beginning of next year, during the first math tutorial session.
If you have commitments such as Y1 orientation facilitation, you should plan your time
wisely and ensure you are able to submit your work at the same deadline as others. Being
able to manage your time well is a skill that you should possess.
For students who obtained <65% for EOY Exams (i.e. below 156/220):
On top of the above, you also have to complete:
4. Consolidation for Y5 Maths (Set C)
It is recommended that you do Set C first, followed by Sets A and B.

SPECIAL REMARKS;
1. There will be a maths test in 2017 Term 1 Week 3. Topics covered will be from
Assumed Knowledge for JC H2 Maths.
2. The file on Assumed Knowledge is contents of the O Level Additional Mathematics.
You should have learnt all except the equation of circle and the linear law. If you are
not confident of any of the topics, you should do your own revision using all the notes
and worksheets.
3. You are also encouraged to read up on Chapters 6 and 7 of the Shinglee New Syllabus
Additional Mathematics (9th Edition) textbook, as it will put you in a good stead to
learn H2 Maths.
