Odredbena odnosna reenica blie odreuje imenicu ili zamenicu na koju se odnosi i ne moe da se izostavi, jer bez nje
reenica nema smisao. Kada govorimo o ljudima, koristimo who ili that; which ili that se koriste kada govorimo o
stvarima ili ivotinjama. Kada je odnosna zamenica objekat reenice, ona se moe izostaviti. Umetnuta odnosna
reenica daje dodatno obavetenje o glavnoj reenici i moe da se izostavi poto glavna reenica i bez nje ima smisla.

U engleskom jeziku postoje particip sadanji, particip proli i particip perfekta. Oni se koriste da skrate reenicu kada
oznaavaju radnju istovremenu sa deavanjem radnje glavnog glagola, mada ponekad radnja participa moe i da
prethodi glavnoj radnji. Glagoli percepcije ili ulne senzacije mogu biti praeni ing participom ili infinitivom (I saw her
enter the house. *kako je ula / I saw her entering the house.*kako je ulazila).

slinog znaenja (be able to, have to). Modali mogu imati vie znaenja.

njegovo graenje. Pasiv se mnogo ee koristi u engleskom nego u srpskom jeziku i to kada vrilac radnje nije poznat,
kada vrilac radnje nije bitan, kada se naglaava radnja, a ne vrilac radnje i kada je vrilac radnje oigledan.

Bezlian pasiv se koristi samo uz glagole opaanja (say, think, knowitd). Neodreeni subjekat (people, they, somebody)
