Cost Estimation
It is hard to get a specific
price for most of the things I
chose, but the baseboard that
I chose does have a price.
3.25-in x 8-ft for $7.15.
Maintenance
The maintenance for these
products are not specified on
any of the websites, but Im
guessing regular care and
cleaning of the millwork
would be recommended.

Maintenance
Paint and Wall Finishes- For the paint, it is recommended to re-paint after a couple years. All you have to do is clean the
Floor- The maintenance of the flooring is very simple. For the carpet, just a regular vacuum and carpet cleaning supplies is
needed to keep it clean. And steaming is allowed. And the other flooring, just regular cleaning and maintenance is needed,
nothing special.
Surface Materials- Thankfully, the grenite website gives specific instructions on how to care for the product. In all
applications, Grenite products do not require special maintenance procedures. Regular cleaning hot water (without soap or
detergent) and a soft cotton cloth is all that is required. DO NOT use strong alkaline, acid or oxidizing cleaners, whether high,
neutral or low pH) on Grenite. DO NOT use or expose Grenite to bleach, oven cleaners, Comet, Soft Scrub, SOS, pumice,
batteries, paint remover, furniture strippers, tarnish or silver cleaners and similar products. DO NOT apply sealers, penetrants
or topical treatments to Grenite surfaces. Such products will wear off and cause the finish to dull. from the Grenite website

cleaning of the millwork would be recommended.
surface then paint on it. To clean, the paint and the wall finishes just use regular things to clean, like water and a cloth.

Residential and Commercial Interiors Projects. 2nd ed. John Wiley & Sons P&T. VitalBook file.
The current wall trends are wallpaper and wall covering and wall finishes,
instead of paint. I think these are more preferred over other things like paint,
because it is a lot easier to install and take care of. Because paint is obviously
more difficult to do. And though it is cheaper than the other things, it is a lot
worse for the environment. Wallpaper and wall covering is usually non-toxic to
us humans. And if the wall finish is natural thats not toxic either. And usually
it has low VOCs. Also if you want to change your mind about the wall, and you
have a wall covering, it is a lot easier to change.
The current trends in flooring is marble and hardwood. The reason that
these types of flooring are preferred over other flooring, is that these types of
flooring looks a lot more elegant and it also lasts a long time.
Mannington, the types of products that they represent flooring, like carpeting and hardwood, etc.

Cost Estimation
Floor- Unfortunately, the prices for the products are not available on the
Mannington website, which I only figured out until I finished the legend and
everything else.
Surface Materials- Ive noticed that a lot of these websites rarely have the
cost of the products but Im guessing since the products that I have chosen
are a little bit more luxurious, the price could be in the thousands
Millwork-It is hard to get a specific price for most of the things I chose, but
the baseboard that I chose does have a price. 3.25-in x 8-ft for $7.15.
Justification
Paint and Wall Finishes- I chose all of these paints and wall finishings because they
are all environmentally friendly. And the functionality of these paints and finishes
is good. And they are all cohesive.
Floor- The reason I choose this flooring and carpet, is because I thought that it
went well with the paint and wall covering that I chose. I also think that the
company that I decided to go with for all the different flooring is very good,
because they are a sustainable company. The colors that I chose for the flooring is
very monochromatic but I think it gives the health fitness center a nice elegant
feel.
Surface Materials- The justification for my selections was that I wanted natural
finishes and in simple colors. I also wanted the products to be low maintenance,
and long lasting.
Millwork- For the millwork, I wanted to choose things that were simple and not too
over the top so they wouldnt clash with the other things that I have chosen.
