4-in. OnTrak
The 4-in. OnTrak integrated MWD and
LWD system provides real-time directional
surveys, gamma ray, multiple-propagation
resistivity, annular pressure, drilling dynamics
measurements from a single sub. This
innovative design takes into account all the
challenges present in the most demanding
rotary-steerable and LWD applications for
reliable operations and reduced NPT. Our
proprietary multiple-propagation resistivity
sensor design provides the most accurate
measurements in the industry. The 4-in.
OnTrak service combines an integrated
sensor section with a downhole power and
communications module and the Advantage
surface system to deliver optimal directional
control, accurate formation evaluation, and
information to enable reservoir navigation.
The 4-in. OnTrak service provides the
platform for the AutoTrak rotary steerable
service and advanced LWD services including
LithoTrak, SoundTrak, TesTrak, and
CoPilot.

For reservoir navigation, the 4-in. OnTrak

sensors provide eight multi-depth resistivity
measurements, enabling optimum wellbore
placement. Two gamma ray detectors
mounted on opposite sides of the tool provide
an indication of approaching bed boundaries
and can be used to provide an image of the
wellbore. The annular pressure reading can
be delivered with flow on or off and provides
information for ECD monitoring for timely
reaction to wellbore stability issues. Finally,
drilling dynamics measurements allow the
optimization of drilling parameters on surface
and improve reliability.
The 4-in. OnTrak service includes the
capability of Passive Magnetic Ranging (PMR)
as part of the AccuTrak service for
Advanced Wellbore Positioning (AWBP).
The 4-in. OnTrak service is capable to
provide AccuFit service which includes the
real-time pressure profile from a Formation
Integrity Test or Leak-Off Test to be
transmitted uphole immediately after the test.

Even at high ROPs, superior log quality can

be achieved by combining this service with the
quality borehole provided by the 4-in.
AutoTrak rotary-steerable system.
