British are unaffected by Toblerone
Within in the recent events of the Toblerone chocolate company reducing their
bar size, there has been outrage. This cataclysmic event has sparked uprising within
the British community. With the size decreasing and the price staying the same, some
customers are astonished by this undercutting move. Although this is a series of
unfortunate events, the overall economy is not threated at all by the drop-in
consumption.
A result of these smaller bars is a direct result from the increase of price with
ingredients increasing. As time, has passed there has been some changes made by
Toblerone is order to ensure their success. This shows that the changes implemented
by Toblerone are not because of the English economy, but because of the hard times
the chocolate company is suffering. From the writer Colm Kelpie, it could be restated
that in order to keep Toblerone on the shelves that the size of the bar must have been
reduced. Since these prices are increasing, there has been limited production in the
chocolate factories. Once again, these are Toblerone problems and does not affect the
English at all finically.

Similar to Kelpie, Hoover has a direct quote from an executive of Toblerone, We
have had to reduce the weight and of the bar for the UK market. Due to the short
comings of Toblerone they are shrinkflatting the British in order to gain profits. This is
not only happening in England; other countries are feeling the daggers of Toblerone
shrinkflation. Changing of the size and not the price was not announced to the public or
to any of the countries being affected by this treason.
There has been numerous amount of complaints from the customers who
bought these bars without knowing that the size was reduced. Opinions of multiple
customers said they should have increased the price, instead of back stabbing the
people who made them able to make chocolate. Another way to enforce on how it does
not affect Englands economy, the reduction in bar size has been spread across multiple
countries and not just local to Britain. With this wide spread disappoint, Toblerone has
only seemed to hurt themselves in their attempt to fix their mistakes.
A saving grace to Toblerone is that they mention that the cause of the reduction
is because of the Bretix vote (Pontefract & Castleford). Due to this vote, it offers them a
scape goat in the cause of their chocolate bar reduction size. An internal conflict with
Britain is that they have an overall increase of general goods. However, that does not
explain the reduced size of Toblerone. Perhaps if the price were to increase and the
size remain the same then it would be the culprit. At the moment, England is working on
reducing this huge inflation of their prices. As this crisis is adverted, Toblerone could
turn back to their normal size bars.
From all the information about Toblerone short comings, not one of them affects
the English economy. One the only thing it could potentially affect is the popularity of

Toblerone in the country. There are no numbers that represent that it at all is able to
impact the slightest on the English people. The solution to address the outrage and
public dislike of Toblerone is to 1) Lower the price to address the reduction in size, or 2)
Increase the price and return the bar to its normal size. With these two options, not one
of them will affect the British economy, only the public relations between Toblerone and
the citizens of England.
Fans are the main ones affected by this sudden change in the bar shape. There
has been continuous outrage from fans who believe that they have been undercut by
sneak Toblerone. It was considered an act of treason from majority of the people whom
consume the chocolate bar. Their reasoning was that the bar shrinking was less notice
able and, also less harmful than increasing the price of the bar to match the price of
ingredients. A slight truth about that the less noticeable bar size has surfaced, because
a survey was taken if people could notice a different between the two. As it turns out,
most of the people taking part in the survey could not notice the difference between the
two bars. To reinsure that the history/tradition of Toblerone is still preserved and that
nothing about the recipe nor where it is made has changed.
Another push has been made to ensure that it is not traceable back to Britix or
any other connections. Ms. Pryor stated that there has to be a way to keep the bar on
the shelf rather it be increase the price or, decrease the size of the bar while maintain
the normal size. There have been rumors facing the British economy and the worth of
the pound increasing or decreasing. Toblerone has been attacking this open wound of
Britain, asserting that they simply lowered the weight of the bar in order to compensate
with the decrease of the pound worth. Weather this accusation of the worth of the pound

is skeptical, Britain is not going to allow it to tatter their reputation. A representative from
Bretix said the currency exchange is however, unfavorable but, that does not affect the
price of bars.
Prices of general goods as increased since the exit of Britain from the European
Union. Countrymen in Britain think that the this is the reason as to why their currency
exchange rate is as low as it is. Importers of food as experienced the increase of prices
due to increased taxes on imported goods. One more possibility of why this issue was
an occurrence because, of the politics happening within England, attempts to see if
people would notice in their changes or not.
No matter how much the news and other companies try to affect England and
their economy with changes for the worst, they will not budge it does not hurt them.
England is a resilient country sticking to their beliefs and keeping their own individualism
and not conforming to social norms, no matter the pressure brought unto them from
other places/countries.
