ABSTRACT: Kuran Mslmanlarn kutsal kitabdr. Hz. Muhammede nazil olan ilk vahyin
balangc miladi yedinci asra dayanmaktadr. Bylece vahiy yaklak yirmi sene devam etmitir.
Vahye dorudan muhatap olanlar onu ok iyi anlamaktaydlar. Nitekim Kuran kendi anadillerinde nazil
olmaktayd. Vahye dorudan muhatap olanlar Kurann nazil olduu balam da ok iyi bilmekteydi.
Fakat anadili Arapa olmayanlar ve Kurann balamn bilmeyenler slamiyetle merref olunca
Kurann mealine ve tefsirine ihtiya duymaya baladrlar.
Bildiimiz kadaryla, ortaa Yahudi literatrnde Kur'an- Kerime atflar bulunmaktadr, hatta
bazen alntlar dahi vardr, ancak Kurann branice tercmesi o zaman henz yoktu. Kur'ann ilk
tercmesi, talyancadan braniceye olmutur (1547) fakat sz konusu meal matbu deildir. Arapa
aslndan braniceye Kuran ilk tercme eden Hermann Reckendorf olmutur (1857). Hermanndan
gnmze kadar Kuran drt defa daha braniceye tercme edilmitir. Bu almamzda branice mealleri
tantacaz ve ksaca inceleyeceiz.
