    Abstract
    AccordingtoUnitedNationsEnvironmentProgramme(UNEP),ensuringacleanand
    healthyenvironmentwillprovidemultiplebenefitstosocietyandeconomy.Sustainable
    production,followedbyappropriatemanagementofindustrialandagriculturalwaste,will
    protectandenhancebiodiversityandecosystemservices.Toachievethisobjective,
    specificpoliciesmustbeputinplaceandspecificactionsperformedformakingalow
    carbonandresourceefficienteconomywithreducedproductionofpetrolderivedgoods.
    Theaimofthestudyhasbeentoproduceeffectiveandsafeantiagebeautymasksmade
    ofnonwoventissuesbasedontheuseofchitinnanofibril(CN)andnanolignin(LG),
    obtainedfromcrustaceansandplantbiomass,respectively.Tothispurpose,nanoparticles
    andelectrospunfibreshavebeencharacterizedbyDynamicLightScatteringandSEM,
    whilethesafenessandeffectivenessoftheobtainedtissueswasverifiedinvitroona
    cultureofkeratinocytesandfibroblasts,andcontrolledinvivobyexpertdermatologistson
    30volunteerphotoagedwomen,bysubjectiveandobjectivebioengineeredmethods.The

    invitroresultshaveshownthatthebeautymaskshavenotoxiceffectsontheviabilityof
    keratinocytesandfibroblaststreatedbytheDimethylTetrazole(MTT)method,andexhibit
    adecreasedexpressionofcytokines,playingacentralroleintheregulationofimmuneand
    inflammatoryresponsesinprematureagingandenvironmentalassaults.Thereparative
    andantiagingeffectivenessoftheseinnovativebeautymaskshavebeenalsoverifiedon
    thereleaseofMetalloProteinaseI(MMP1)andtheincreasedsynthesisofcollagentypeI,
    reducedinskinaging.Thefirstpreliminaryinvivoresults,obtainedbyengineering
    methods,haveconfirmedtheprotectiveandrejuvenatingactivityshownbytheinvitro
    studyconductedon30voluntarywomenexhibitingsignsofphotoaging.Therawmaterials
    usedareofnaturaloriginbeingalsorespectfuloftheenvironment,accordingtothe
    OrganizationforEconomicCooperationandDevelopment(EOCD)andEU
