Guidelines, Form and Style of
RESEARCH AND THESIS WRITING

1. Research Output of Accountancy students should be computer/laser

printed on a short bond paper (8 x 11), double spaced and should use
font size no. 12.
2. Margin should be 1.5 left 1.3 on top, bottom and right side of the bond
paper.
3. The researchers may use the font style Times New Roman.
4. The use of font style and size should be consistent from the first page to
the last.
5. Pagination should be on the upper right hand corner of the page (1 inch
distance, top and right side).
6. No page number should appear in the beginning of the chapter (chapter
page).
7. Tables and graphs should be labeled on top with Arabic number and brief
title.
8. A table or graph should not be cut. It should be accommodated in one
page.
9. All books and internet sources which are consulted and used in organizing
the theoretical background should be listed in the bibliography. In
Internet source, the date when it was downloaded should appear in the
bibliography entry.
10. The American Psychological Association (APA) style or citing sources and
bibliographical entries be used.
11. The text of the researcher paper should be saved in at least three CDs
with labeled name (in case the hard disk is infected with virus or lost of
CD).
12. The sequence of tables appearing in Chapter II must be
congruent to the sequence of specific problems or objective found
in Chapter I.
13. The researcher should submit at least three copies of
hardbound (1 department, 1 library, and 1 for the RHDO)
14. The researcher should also expect expenses upon processing their
softbound and hardbound copies and also the unexpected expenses if
ever. (like correction of grammar, statistics, program output and etc)
15. The researcher should follow the guidelines in order to lessen the
expenses and avoid repetition of reprinting and binding just in case.
16. Related studies and literature should be at least five (5) foreign
authors and five (5) local authors.
17. Corrections made by the panelists should strictly be followed.
18.
Submit the final copy on the specified date made by the chairman or
adviser.
