Definition

Piping system for waste disposal is a type for waste disposal method which use a
chute as a medium to collect the waste. Refuse chute is a hollow shaft and commonly built in
a tall building which rubbish and waste is thrown down to the main refuse bins. All the waste
are collected in one place before being transported to landfill. This piping system is invented
to make the transportation of the waste disposal easier and more environmental friendly.

Advantage and Disadvantage


Advantages
Space saver
- It doesnt use as much space as
trash can or dustbin

Smell
- Due to the gate, the smell of the waste
is less and waste doesnt stay long in
the same place
Energy
- It also reduces the number of
manpower used in the process
User friendly
- Residents just need two to three steps
in operating the refuse chute
Low operating cost & long term
- The material that is used in building
can withstand a harsh climate

Disadvantages
Maintenance
- Waste collection is done automatically
High cost
- Due to the strong material used, the
cost those materials also affect the cost
of building and installing one
Large deposits
- The piping cannot receive a large
deposits of waste due to the size of
piping is according to specification
Clog
- Large deposits that are thrown in the
chute may cause the chute to be
clogged therefore prevent other waste
to be deposit
Danger
- In some cases children mistakenly think
it is a playground feature and without
hesitate going through the chute
