DESIGN LANGUAGE-LEARNING ENGLISH


INNOVATIVE EARLY FOR CHILDREN

Introduction :
A. Background
English having an important role in the effort to communicate and as bridging with
the outside world. In relation to basic education, English language has a strategic role. To
determine the success of the educational quality of learning and teaching should be improved.
Learning English is good and right to be supported by qualified human resources. In other
words, improving the quality of human resources can have a positive impact on increasing
learning English. For it is necessary to develop a wide selection of models of learning that
can improve motivation and interest in English. an early age equipped with good English
skills and true, these capabilities will be used in further education. Especially in this era of
globalization where English is a language of international communication and requires each
individual to be able to speak English well and correctly in oral and written following the
development of science, technology and communications. Early age children are generally
not able to speak fluently is not designed to be built due to a sense of confidence that have
difficulty speaking English naturally. the importance of English language and should have
been introduced to children at an early age, so in a way there is interest of the child - the child
to learn to explore their own abilities in using the language as its medium. In this case the
school has the authority of the English subjects to be included as one of the local content that
is taught in primary schools based on consideration of the circumstances and needs of both
parents and the community itself. But for basic education, there is no sort of policy /
government regulation on learning the English language

Knowing the exact learning english model and is able to effectively improve the
English language skills in early childhood
D. Identify the purpose of the article is :
The purpose of this article is to determine the models of teaching and learning English
at this time is appropriate and effective. By knowing the models of learning English,
is expected to have an increased knowledge for educators in this regard teachers as
well as parents and hopefully they can apply appropriate methods to make learning
and teaching English to children, particularly younger children

A. Summary
To the learning process in the classroom goes well, it would require a learning
strategy that is technically outline the steps to learn on a regular basis.
Models of English Language Learning :
1. Grammar Translation Method
On methods of Grammar (the Grammar Method) students learn the rules of grammar,
together with a list of vocabulary or groups. In this method of control rules take
precedence over the application. Verbal skills, such as pronunciation, not done.
2. Direct Method (DM)
This method was not able to make the child can communicate using the foreign
language being studied.
3. The Audio-Lingual Method
The term audio-lingualisme first put forward by Prof. Nelson Brooks in 1964. This
method is claimed to be the most effective methods and efficient in learning a foreign
language and claim to have changed their methods of language teaching is only an
issue to a science. Audio-Lingual Method (ALM) is the result of a combination of
views and principles of Structural Linguistics, Contrastive Analysis, Aural-Oral
approach, and behavioristic psychology
4. TPR (Totally Physical Response)
This method is also called 'the comprehension approach' which touches on the

importance of 'listening comprehension'. In the early stages of learning a foreign


language focused on listening comprehension.
5. The Silent Way
In the learning process, the teacher just pointed to a chart that contains the vocal
consonant. Teachers pointed several times to be quiet. After a while the teacher just
gave an example of the pronunciation. Then appoint students to recite to correct.
Teachers in the learning process a lot of silence, he only directed / pointed in the
learning material.

6. Suggestopedia
In applying this model of learning, classrooms arranged in such a way that is different
from regular classes. Students sitting on the couch in a semicircle with the dim
lighting. Some posters that relate to learning material mounted on the wall. Teachers
greet the learner's mother tongue and then convinced that hell does not need to try to
learn but the learning will take place naturally. Teachers play classical music then
directs learners to relax by way of a sigh. The teacher invites learners to imagine

that, the teacher read while making music. Teachers do not give homework.
7. Community Language Learning
A circle of chairs with a table in the middle. There is a tape recorder on the table.
Teacher explains the purpose of learning. The teacher asks the students to make the
dialogue in English. If students do not know the teachers help. Students recorded
conversations. Then, the results recorded in writing in the form of transcripts in
English and native language. After that the rules of language are discussed.
8. The Communicative Approach (Communicative Language Teaching)
The focus of this method is basically the elaboration and implementation of programs
and methodologies that support a functional language skills through learning
participation in communicative activities

There are about 7 models: the Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method (DM),

Each of these models will be described in detail in this article

Study is thing significant process in our life. Especially in learning English, because
English be used by the world. Very significant to parents give they childrens English
education from early. Because English education is continuing education. In this article
discuss about design language-learning English innovative early for children. And There are
about 7 models: the Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method (DM), The Audio-Lingual
Method, TPR (Totally Physical Response), The Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community,.
Usefulness of the article is :
Can helping parents or teacher in process learning English early for children
Weakness of the article is :
In some methods dont complete with the technique of step. And tha is make the
reader difficult to understand or apply this technique.

English language learning at an early age have a positive impact as the introduction
stage of foreign language before they move on to basic education and higher education
further. In the implementation of learning English can use the whole language method,
communicative, and process skills. But educators and parents can apply models developed
learning English now that we know there are 7 models: the Grammar Translation Method,
Direct Method (DM), The Audio-Lingual Method, TPR (Totally Physical Response), The
Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community Language Learning, The Communicative Approach.
