EXPERIENCE
ICARE AmeriCorps VISTA Training Coordinator
ICARE

AmeriCorps Vista training coordinator for the North Idaho Initiative to Prevent Child
Sexual Abuse, through the St. Vincent de Paul ICARE program and the Idaho
Children's Trust Fund. Responsible for recruiting, cultivating and supporting partner
organizations and other training facilitators. Encouraging a diverse population of
Idaho adults to participate in the Darkness to Light Stewards of Children training.
Internship
University of Idaho

Internship with St. Vincent de Paul ICARE program. Worked with staff for a total of 255 hours
over the course of three months. Visited with families in their homes and in transitional
housing settings. Coordinated in case management with ICARE staff to aid in goal
planning/creation for the families to work towards. Educated families on community resource
information. Assisted with planning and implementation of parent activities during Nurturing
Parents class, with a focus on proper portion sizes according to MyPlate guidelines. Conducted
ASQ assessment on program children. Promoted the Stewards of Children sexual abuse
prevention training to schools in Idahos Region 1 through mail and telephone campaign.
Solicited requests for donations from local companies to be used for family enrichment
activities.
Curriculum Student
University of Idaho

Completed a total of 26 curriculum lab hours between Mountain States Early


Head Start and North Idaho College Childrens Center. Worked with children
varying in age from newborn to three years. Collaborated with site staff to
apply university level classroom teaching techniques in these areas: art, math,
shapes, sensory experience and emotions. Spent additional 6 hours
completing the ITERS-R evaluation at the North Idaho Childrens Center.
Observation Student
North Idaho College

Completed a total of 24 observation lab hours at the North Idaho College


Childrens Center. Monitored the children in the classroom dedicated to the

three-year-old age grouping. Compiled observational assessments on how the


children played both independently and in group setting.
Social Work Student

Completed 20 hours at Mountain States Early Head Start. Contributed in


various areas within the Coeur dAlene and Lakeland centers: filed paperwork,
recorded and organized lending library, and sorted clothing donations.
