Small Hospital Specialists

Telemed, in 1995, specializes in small hospital and imaging center radiology.
We installed our first DICOM diagnostic teleradiology system in 1995. Our focus is on the
unique needs to small market hospitals, clinics and imaging centers. Our company is focused
on provide high-level DICOM expertise and products to healthcare facilities that may not
have extensive IT staff with DICOM expertise in-house.
To solve the unique needs of our customers we have partnered with Kodak, the leader in
digital radiology imaging products. We understand how to apply their advanced technology
and products to meet the unique needs of small facilities.

DICOM Expertise
InTelemed has many years of DICOM integration expertise in-house. We have worked
with every brand and model of modality in the marketplace, and understand the nuances
involved with all the DICOM modalities on the market today. Our engineers know how to
set up DICOM connectivity, including DICOM Store, Print, Query, and Modality Worklist.
If a modality is not DICOM, we offer products that can be used to convert the data into a
DICOM format.
This means we can make any modality you have work with the latest in PACS technology.
We are often the ones that are called in when even the vendor cannot make it work!

Automating the radiology enterprise.

Networking Experience
Our background for years, even before our focus on radiology, has been computer
networks. We have installed literally hundreds of T-1 lines, DSL, cable modems, T-3 and
fiber optic lines. Our design expertise includes fiber optic networks for the OU Health Sciences Center, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, New York Eye and Ear Institute and
Williams Telecommunications. Our engineers understand how to decode IP protocols to
more easily troubleshoot communications between a modality and a wide-area network.
What does this expertise mean to you? We can assist your IT department in configuring
your radiology network, or if you dont have an IT department we can do the design and
implementation for you. We help vendors when they have trouble getting a modality to
communicate properly. Many local vendor service engineers use us as their go to company
when they have modality networking problems.

InTelemed Service
Our DICOM expertise is second to none. Whether its connecting your CT and MRI to
your PACS system, troubleshooting radiology network problems, or managing your hospital firewall, InTelemed has the technical expertise to keep your radiology system running
smoothly.

CARESTREAM PACS
MMI offers Kodaks integrated CARESTREAM PACS and RIS system, designed to
meet the needs of any sized hospital.

A Workflow-oriented, role-based PACS architecture

KODAK CARESTREAM PACS elevates the concept of anywhere, anytime access to a higher
level. No longer are clinicians bound to dedicated thick-client workstations. Now innovative thinclient architecture allows radiologists and clinicians to perform their tasks at any licensed workstation within the enterprise. Specific display protocols, diagnostic and viewing tools, and other
preferences based on a users clinical needs are available upon logon.

Leveraging native 3-D to manage complex cases

Reviewing large numbers of images - often hundreds of slices per study - may be simply impractical for most
radiology departments. This poses significant constraints on a radiologists efficiency.
Now Kodak CARESTREAM PACS provides a solution for embedding the power and efficiency of 3-D
display in the diagnostic workstation software. Clinicians now have the ability to transform vast amounts of
data into useful clinical information without having to refer to a standalone third-party 3D worsktation. The
primary study is always available.
CARESTREAM PACS 3-D package includes volume rendering, maximum intensity projection (MIP),
multi-planar reformatting (MPR), tissue definition, vessel tracking, and cardiac/vessel analysis.

Scalable for your size and workflow requirements

KODAK CARESTREAM PACS readily adapts to the size and workflow of any facility, from a
small clinic to a large multi-site healthcare network. The non-proprietary PACS platform easily
expands and reconfigures to meet changing clinical and operational needs. It can be configured to
leverage your existing enterprise infrastructure and IT assets.
CARESTREAM PACS integrates a broad range of legacy and third-party systems, modalities, and
equipment by using DICOM-3, HL-7, and TCP/IP, and other industry protocols, interfaces, and
standards. Integration with an existing RIS gives PACS users real-time access to report information. A brokerless bi-directional link automatically ensures RIS/PACS synchronization.
A central database produces a unified view of all studies with local access to online images. This
enables all system users to participate in a global workgroup with access to all enterprise data.

Expanding PACS into the

clinical spectrum
Kodak extends the utility of PACS beyond radiology with workstation technology to view images from a host of clinical specialties.
Now cardiology exam review, orthopedic surgical planning, mammography evaluation, and real-time 3-D virtual colonoscopy can
be done with a single CARESTREAM PACS workstation solution. The extension of PACS across medical specialties provides
clinicians powerful and productive applications to manage more
information and secure a more precise treatment regimen. The
following applications can be integrated with or added onto the
CARESTREAM workstation platform:
Mammography support includes dedicated diagnostic workstations, advanced digital display support, computer-aided detection (CAD), and an advanced hand controller for screening.
Orthopedic templating enables a surgeon to pre-plan surgical procedures in a digital environment and offers access to a large library of digital orthopedic templates.
Virtual colonoscopy provides rapid 3-D colon evaluation with action buttons embedded into
the CARESTREAM diagnostic workstation.
Cardiac review software, integrated into the workstation, includes phase analysis, heart axis detection, calcium scoring, and automatic cage removal.
