A brief overview

What is a CRO?
A contract research organization (CRO) is an organization that provides support to
the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries in the form of research
services outsourced on a contract basis. CROs may provide a large portfolio of services
such as preclinical research, clinical research and management, pharmacovigilance,
regulatory affairs, data management, logistics ( supply), e-clinical solutions ,
manufacturing ( GMP), biological testing, analytical services,
In Belgium, there are around ninety CROs going from small organizations ( local,
specialized niche services) to global and full-services CROs.
In spite of economic downturn, CRO market is still growing and recruits extensively in
scientific community, ( +/- 1700 employees in 2014 in Belgium ( A BeCRO study))
