5. Potential customers
The potential customers of our project are amateur cyclists, people live in areas where helmets are
not required or worn in many instances and people who hate bulky helmets during cycling.
These customers understand and are informed on issues related to helmet protection of cyclist. Most of
the users have some level of knowledge on risk assessment of head injuries during cycling. The Hovmet
airbag helmet will be used by these customers as an accessory in daily lives and risk prevention gear
when accident happens.

6.2 Technical Details

6.2.1 Product design
Built-in airbag system and movement sensor are protected by the waterproof functional fabric
collar. An enclosing cover surround the collar which allows users to change the appearance of
their Hovmet. The advanced movement sensors can sense the cyclist's abnormal movement
patterns and will react in case of an accident to inflate the airbag, which made by strong nylon
fabric will inflate like a hood covering nearly all the head as a shock absorber. The gas inflator
placed in a holder in the collar on the cyclist's back inflate the airbag by compressed Helium. An
on/off switch when it's attached to the right-hand side of the collar will activates Hovmet. At the
front of the collar, LEDs will show the user whether Hovmet is on or off and its battery level.
The battery can be easily charged by using the USB cable included and last for 9 hours of
cycling. There is a mini black box installed inside the collar to record the users movement
patterns from an accident.
