Bangladesh is a land of infinite possibilities. This is a country powered by youth.
Bangladesh has huge number of youth energetic population, unique culture, tribal
heritage, national festivities, natural resources, fertile soil, beautiful tourist places and
manpower. This unique demography makes Bangladesh as one of the best attractive
country. Our people had a long and difficult struggle to achieve self-sufficiency. But they
achieved it. However without urgent and substantial efforts to strengthen democratic
institutions and to deal with the countrys massive problems of corruption, the country is
in danger of its promising future!
We encourage our participants to report the promise and possibility of Bangladesh
through your photography sense.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 The competition is open to all Bangladesh Citizens and Permanent Residents
residing in Bangladesh except fotografia employees and their immediate family
members.
1.2 Images that have won prizes in prior national or international competitions, or
have been used for commercial purposes/or been published will not be eligible.

2. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
2.1 The submission deadline is August 31 before 11.59pm.
2.2 Participant must register to submit to the Daily Azadi & fotografia photo festival
2015 online. Read and understand the entry and submission guidelines in our website
before registering. If you submitted through email attached the registration form with
your email.
2.3 Photographs is not more than 5 MB in size must be submitted through online or
(Email: contest@fotografiabd.net ) and the Organizers request for higher resolution
images subsequently. We highly encourage submission by online.
2.4 Entries should be in JPEG format and at least 3500 pixels wide for horizontal or
vertical image. Minimum resolution of 300 DPI is required.
2.5 Each participant can submit up to four (4) entries. You can submit single or each
individual category but remember not more than total (4) photos.
2.6 Each photo must be accompanied with a specific caption and if possible a short
description. Well-written captions and description are needed so that judges understand
the context of the image. Only captions in English and Bangla languages will be
accepted for the entry to the competition.
2.7 Entries of Documentary category can submit minimum four (4) and maximum
eight (8) photos. Each photo must be accompanied with a specific caption. Needs a
brief description (maximum 300 characters) about the works. Submitted through (Email:

2.8 Only minimum enhancements is accepted.
2.9 Entries for Smartphone Photography category is an open competition and theme
is open. Entries need to upload the photos in our official facebook page (
https://www.facebook.com/fotografiabd ).Anyone can upload up to five ( 5 ) photos in an
open theme. Give a nice caption for each uploaded photo and mention the brand of the
phone. Public can give the vote (like + share + comment is counted) for their favorite
photo. Once submission has closed our honorable judge will shortlist the top 20
photograph. Judging will then be split 60% judges choice, 40% public vote.
3.1 Each photograph should have a caption and rename your picture in the following
format: Category_Caption_Photographers name_Mobile number Example- 01_life is
beautiful_Maruf Rahman_01XX XXXXXXX
3.2 Entries depicting violence, racism will result in immediate disqualification.

3.3 Entry Fees: BDT 500/- only if your photo is selected for the exhibition, then you
need to pay the money.
3.4 In case of any sale taking place during the exhibition, you will receive 50% of the
price.

4. COPYRIGHT/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
4.1 Entries must be the original and unpublished work of the participant and copyright
owner.
4.2 The Organizers reserve the right to reproduce any forms of the entry, such as
print, broadcast, electronic media and social media without requiring the permission of
the participant and without any fee payment. However the photographer will be
acknowledged.

5. PRIZES
There are total of twenty (20) prizes! Total (120) shortlisted photographs will be
displayed in the exhibition at Zila Shilpokola Academy, Chittagong.
The grand winner will receive:

Crest and Certificate
Free scholarships will be awarded for a 3 to 4 day photography masterclass.
Winning image will be published in a national main stream newspaper

Winners of each individual category will receive:

Two Honorable Mention award of each individual category will receive:

Awarded 50% waiver of Workshop fee for a 3 to 4 day long photography masterclass.

***Smartphone Photography Awards:

fotografia has just launched the Smartphone Photography Awards 1 st time in
Bangladesh. The competition is open to anyone and theme is open. fotografia believes
that mobile devices can turn your images into masterpieces.

Winner Will Receive:

Grand winner will be awarded by the fotografia mobile photographer of the year title.
Crest and Certificate.
A exclusive brand new Smartphone.
Winning image showcased in the exhibition and the catalogue.
Exposure on the fotografia website and social media.
Media coverage.
Top five winner will be also awarded by a brand new exclusive Smartphone!

All Shortlisted Photographers will get Certificate, Catalogue and

T-Shirt.
5.1 Prizes are non-transferrable and non-exchangeable for cash or in kind.
5.2 The Organizers reserve the right to modify the competition prizes and its rules
and regulations as and when necessary, without prior notice.
5.3 The Organizers are not liable for any fault with any of the prizes and any issues
should be referred to the Manufacturer/Supplier/Sponsor.

6. JUDGING AND RESULTS

6.1 The images will be selected by a panel of judges and their decision is final. No
correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision will be entertained.
6.2 The panel of judges will evaluate the entries based on the following criteria:
- Artistic/visual appeal.
- Originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
- Extent to which the photograph captures the essence of the theme.
6.3 The judging panel reserves the right not to award the prizes if the photographs
submitted do not meet the requirements stated in this document.
6.4 Results of the competition will be posted on the fotografia photography
competition website, official facebook page and winners will also be notified via email
and phone.

7. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND REGULATIONS

7.1 Submission of entries signifies acceptance of the rules and regulations of the
competition.
7.2 While the Organizers will exercise due care during the collection, selection and
storage of images, it shall not be held liable for any loss, theft or destruction of the
images.
