Good morning...
teacher and friends who I respect, first of all, let us praise and thank the Presence of Allah
Almighty who has given us the grace and hidayahnya all so that we can gather in this place,
I say many thanks for the opportunity that has been given me to deliver a speech entitled
"The Importance of Moral Education".
Previous surely we all know that education is the most important part in the life of the
nation. Without education, it is impossible that we can continue the life of the state,
especially in maintaining the dignity of the nation in the international community. A nation
can be said to be developed in an advanced education in the country and be able to manage
human and natural resources for the welfare of its citizens well. For that reason, many
efforts have been made jointly by the parties for the promotion of education in Indonesia.
However, equipping future generations with science and technology alone is not sufficient to
continue to advance even the nation. They need to get a form of moral education as the
nation's next generation of personal morals, honest and responsible. Moral education is one
of the nation's capital to improve conditions.
We certainly realize that the fall of a nation can be caused by damage to the morale of its
citizens. Could be moral damage caused by the citizens themselves who can not control
themselves with faith and devotion to the Creator. In addition, the destruction of ethics can
also be due to too complacent with television shows or entertainments that are less
educated. The evidence suggests that the next generation needs moral guidance, especially
from the families and the school. This is reflected in the news revealed that internet cafes in
large cities most visited by students, including children of primary school and junior high.
However, it turns out most of these visitors-including elementary and junior high school
students did not use the internet as well as possible. They do not use it to find information or
learn something positive, but use it to get the negative things, such as pornography. Of
course this is very disturbing fact many parties, especially for parents and teachers. While
the facts about the ethics of honesty that feared the collapse will continue, has become a
familiar story to be heard, such as corruption, bribery, the loss of the rule of law, etc..
Therefore, it is obligatory for us, especially parents and educators, to pay attention to
education of future generations of the nation. Not only the general education course, but
more importantly moral education and formation of faith and devotion to the Creator so that
the next generation has the personality sublime and high ideals. Thus, progress and
prosperity of the nation is expected to be realized.
