Universal Annunciator Setup for MCM3320

Preliminary/Confidential/Proprietary

1 Introduction
Universal Annunciator versions 1.07 and higher have the functionality of accepting configuration
commands over the PCCNet network. Older versions must be configured manually by using the push
buttons on the back of the annunciator.
MCM3320 versions 1.24 and higher have the functionality of configuring annunciators over the network.

2 Testing for Automatic Configuration Functionality

You can test if your MCM3320 and annunciator can automatically perform the configuration by using
either the HMI display for the MCM3320 or by using Inpower.
Using the HMI Display:
Go to the Adj Config Annun screen
Select the Perform Config menu selection
Set PERFORM CONFIG to either Basic Status or to Ld Add Shed.
The CONFIG STATUS parameter will display Annun Not Ready. Press the Silence button on
the Annunciator that you would like to configure.
The CONFIG STATUS will change to Configuring for a few seconds.
The CONFIG STATUS will then change to either Config Error or to Success.
If CONFIG STATUS is set to Success then your annunciator has been properly configured. If
set to Config Error then the annunciator will have to be manually set-up.
Using Inpower:
Set Perform Annunciator Configuration to either Config to Basic Statuses or to Config to Load
Add Shed.
The Annunciator Configuration Status parameter will display Annun Not Ready for Config.
Press the Silence button on the Annunciator that you would like to configure.
The Annunciator Configuration Status parameter will change to Performing Configuration for a
few seconds.
The Annunciator Configuration Status parameter will then change to either Error Occurred While
Configuring or to Annun Successfully Configured.
If the Annunciator Configuration Status parameter is set to Annun Successfully Configured then
your annunciator has been properly configured. If set to Error Occurred While Configuring then
the annunciator will have to be manually set-up.

3 Manually Setting-up the Annunciator

The annunciator can be configured via push buttons. The following defines how to set-up the
annunciator using 3 momentary buttons, 3 LEDs located on the back of the board and the 20 status LEDs
on the front panel. The buttons function as follows:
S1: enter or leave configuration mode at any time.
S1: cycle through the configuration functions.
S2: used in certain configurations to cycle through each of the 20 inputs/LEDs.
S3: used to select possible configurations.
NOTE: This document is intended to be used only for manually setting up the annunciator for use with
the MCM3320. Refer to the Universal Annunciator Operators Manual for further annunciator information.

The 3 LEDs on the back panel are used to display which configuration function is presently being edited.
If Config LED 3 (N3) is flashing at 1 Hz then the annunciator is in Running mode, otherwise, the
annunciator is in Configuration Mode. When in Configuration Mode the 3 Configuration LEDs indicate
which Configuration Function is being edited.
