ends of the radio link are normal.
In the LMT system, if the displayed operating frequency is consistent with the designed
value and the difference between the actual transmitting power and the designed value
does not exceed 2 dBm, the radio link is considered normal; otherwise, the radio link
is abnormal.
2. Verify that the receive levels of the ODUs are normal. For operation details, refer to
"1.3.1 Checking the Receive Level".
3. Verify that the MSE value is normal.
If the MSE value is normal, the error code problem is caused by interference.
4. Verify that the IF cables connected to the ODUs are normal. For operation details,
refer to "1.3.5 Checking the IF Cable".

2.2.3 Radio Link Is Disconnected

Perform the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Adjust the remote transmitting power within the allowed transmitting power range, and
verify that the local RSL is within the normal range.
2. Verify that the ODU frequencies at the two ends of the radio link are matched.
3. Verify that the bandwidths and modulation modes of ODUs at the two ends of the radio
link are consistent.
4. Verify that the IF interface of the IDU has rated DC voltage. If the IF interface does
not have rated DC voltage, replace the IDU.

3.1 Performing the Loopback Test

This procedure describes how to perform the loopback test.
Loopback is the process of an NE's transmitting a signal from its transmit port and
receiving the signal from its receive port. The loopback test helps detect the transmission
link problems.
Through the loopback operation, maintenance personnel can locate NE faults along the
communication link section by section. It helps check the operating status of each node
and the transmission link, and rapidly locates the faulty NEs and faulty boards, which
facilitates equipment commissioning and debugging.
In the NR8000 Series WEB LMT system, users can set radio link loopbacks (including
modulation/demodulation loopback and IF loopback), Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)
loopback, and Ethernet loopback.

Radio Link Loopback

Radio link loopback helps check whether the E1 service is operating properly.

Note:
The Ethernet service will be interrupted when the radio link loopback test is being
implemented.

The following describes the radio link loopback test procedure:

1. Connect the device to an error bit tester.
2. Log in to the WEB LMT system, In the left navigation tree, select Maintenance > Radio
Port. The radio link loopback setting pane is displayed on the right, see Figure 3-1.

3. Select Loopback Enable for the corresponding loopback items such as MF Loopback
and IF Loopback, enter the corresponding Loopback Time, click the Apply button,
and verify that the Bit Error Rate (BER) is zero.
l If the BER is zero, the E1 service between the local error bit tester and the local
RCMUC/RMEA is normal.
l If the BER is not zero, the E1 service between the local error bit tester and the
local RCMUC/RMEA is abnormal, and the fault exists between the local error bit
tester and the local RCMUC/RMEA.

TDM Loopback
The following describes the TDM loopback test procedure:
1. Connect the equipment to an error bit tester.
2. Log in to the WEB LMT system, In the left navigation tree, select TDM > Port
Configuration, and set the Port Status of the corresponding port to Port Enable.

management of OAM helps maintenance personnel monitor real-time network operations,

including frame loss rate, frame delay, and jitter.
This section uses the procedure of checking link connectivity as an example to describe
how to check the Ethernet OAM function. In this example, the equipment reports the
Continuity Check Message (CCM) loss alarm. Figure 3-3 shows the troubleshooting flow.
Figure 3-3 Troubleshooting Link Connectivity Problems

The following describes the troubleshooting procedure:

1. In the MP configuration window, find the Medium Access Control (MAC) address of
the Remote Maintenance association End Point (RMEP) corresponding to the Local
Maintenance association End Point (LMEP) that reports the CCM loss alarm, and
initiates the Loopback (LB) function towards the MAC address to check the network
connectivity.
l If the Loopback Reply (LBR) message is returned, the link is connected.
l If no LBR message is returned, the link is faulty.
2. Initiate the Link Trace (LT) function towards the MAC address found in step 1 to locate
the link problem.
Based on the LT result, find the equipment that last responds the Link Trace Reply
(LTR) message, and check the RMEP MAC address configured for the faulty link on
the equipment, to find out the faulty point-to-point link.
3. Troubleshoot equipment faults at the two ends of the link.
4. Troubleshoot connection media faults between the two ends of the link.

3.3 Performing the MSTP Single-Step Operation

In the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) global configuration window (operation path: ETH >
XSTP > Global Configuration), if Force Version of a device is set to MSTP or RSTP and
the device is connected to an STP device, the connected port will automatically migrate to
the STP mode.
When the device on which STP is operating is removed, the port cannot automatically
migrate to the MSTP/RSTP mode. In this case, users can perform the M_Check operation
to forcedly make the port migrate to Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) mode or
Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) mode.

Steps
1. Select ETH > XSTP > Migrate Check from the left navigation tree. The Migrate Check
pane is displayed on the right, see Figure 3-18.
Figure 3-18 M_Check Example

2. Set Port, and click the mCheck button.
