M.Tech. (Computer Science):
School of Computer Science and IT started M.Tech. (Computer Science) programme in the year 1991. The
programme has been duly approved by the AICTE, New Delhi.

University Teaching Department:


School of Computer Science and Information Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Takshashila Parisar,
Khandwa Road, Indore (M.P.)-452001.

Objectives:
M.Tech. Programme in Computer Science aims at developing professionals having strong foundation in
Computer Science as well as Information Technology who can contribute in research, academics and industry.
The programme puts emphasis on learning by solving problems through laboratory exercises and software
development/research projects.

Eligibility:
GATE qualified in CSE/ECE with 4 years of study at university level/ B.E./ B. Tech (CSE/ IT/ Comp. related
subjects)/ M.C.A./ M.Sc.(CS/IT) with 55 % marks in aggregate.
Relaxation of 5% marks in eligibility for sponsored/ SC/ ST candidates. Maximum age limit is 28 years as on
July 1 of the admission year. No age limit for female / sponsored candidates. Relaxation in age for
SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates is 3 years.
For sponsored candidates minimum two years working experience after qualifying degree is required. The
sponsored candidates have to submit a certificate from the employer on the prescribed Performa.

Admission Procedure:
GATE qualified candidates will be preferred for admission. Admissions will be given as per GATE score.
However, if seats are vacant due to non-availability of the GATE qualified candidates, then NON-GATE
candidates will be admitted as per the merit developed on the basis of % of marks obtained in the
qualifying examination.
The sponsored candidates will be admitted as per the merit developed on the basis of % of marks
obtained in the following categories:

Scholarships:
Scholarship is provided directly to the GATE qualified candidates by AICTE through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Candidates
must note that the University /School does not take any responsibility in this regard.

Caution money (Refundable) of Rs. 4000/- will be charged additionally in the first semester.

If a student repeats a paper(s) in a semester, an additional fee of Rs.500/- per paper shall be
payable.
For NRI/ FN/ PIO Candidates, a fee of US$ 3500 Per Annum shall be payable on yearly basis. They will
have to pay a refundable deposit of US$ 500 once at the time of admission.
Hostel fees and central library fees will be extra.
Rs. 300/- per semester is taken extra from all students for the Students Alumni Association. Alumni
Association funds will be utilized solely by the association and students.
