HOME MEAL PROJECT


Meal planning and serving

Date Due:January 9, 2017 for everyone. It will not be accepted late. This is worth 320 points
of your final exam which is 20% of your semester grade in this class. You will do a
presentation (January 9-10) to the class of your project as well as turn in the following
information. You can redo this form on the computer.
Assignment: You will plan, prepare, and serve a family meal. (Breakfast, Lunch or Evening meal)
and do all the clean up.
Your meal must include foods from all the food groups.
Neatness is important on the written report
Correct spelling is a must!
The above 3 items count toward your overall presentation, which is worth 50 points.
Oral/Class presentation: 50 points
I recommend pictures of the table and the food. A google presentation works well for this
portion of the project.

Time/work schedule: List (with the times) the order of how you prepared the meal. Include the clean
up. This should be detailed. 20 points
Main Course: Describe your main course. What was it? How was it prepared? 20 points
Side Dishes: What types of side dishes did you decide to serve to compliment your main course?
Why did you choose these recipes/recipe? 20 points
Beverages: What and how did you serve them? Make sure that your beverage choice is nutritious.

Table Diagram: Illustrate (or take pictures of) the set table, indicating individual place settings and
placement of serving dishes. I want you to show one individual cover and also the entire table. 20
points.
EVALUATION (90 points)
Directions: You fill out the evaluation and have a parent/guardian or another adult present during
preparation and serving also fill out the evaluation.
