English oral dialogue

Jia Qi: Good morning, Sin Yee. Yesterday I had watch about
Earth Hour in television and heard about it in radio
daily. But I don’t know much about it. Can I ask what
Earth Hour is?

Sin Yee: Good morning, Jia Qi. Earth Hour is a global event
organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, or
known as World Wildlife Fund).

Jia Qi: When is this event held? I feel interest about this and
hope to know more about it.

Sin Yee: It is held on the last Saturday of March and this year
is 27 March 2010. If you want to know more about it
can search it internet.

Jia Qi: How is this event celebrated? Has it celebrated all over
the world? Who will celebrate it?

Sin Yee: It is celebrated all over the world. 126 countries

participated in Earth Hour 2010. Many people have
support and participated this event. You and I can join
it too in that day.

Jia Qi: Wow. Is that real? I feel so excited now. What will we
do for Earth Hour?

Sin Yee: We will be turning off the lights for one hour form
8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Besides that we can invite our
friends, family or neighbours to join you for Earth
Hour activities. A few friendly faces can help make
the time go faster, too! In addition, have a candlelit
dinner with our family or friend, so that won’t feel
bored.

Jia Qi: Why is this event been organized? I feel curious about
it. Can you tell me the reason?

Sin Yee: Of course can. Earth Hour aims to educate the global
community about the threat of climate change.
Participating in Earth Hour is a contribution to a global
message to individuals, businesses, politicians and
governments around the world that climate change
affects and is the responsibility of the global
community.
Jia Qi: Oh, thanks for explaining and answering me whatever
question I ask. Now I really understand all about it
already.
Sin Yee: You are welcome. Hope you can participate this event
because it is really meaningful and significance.
