Brain Cancer
Have you ever wondered what a brain tumor is? Or what causes it? The main cause is errors in
cells that allows them to reproduce rapidly. There are two main kinds; primary and secondary.
Primary is very rare while secondary is more common. Although it is a deadly disease, there are
some ways to treat it. Brain cancer is caused by mutated cells, which leads to either a primary or
secondary type of cancer.
Brain tumors are basically a bunch of mutated cells with wrong DNA codes or errors in the
DNA, A brain tumor is a mass of abnormally growing cells in the brain or skull (Health A-to-Z) .
Cancer can start anywhere in the body, but sometimes ends up in the brain. When cancer cells are
located here, the cells start to rapidly produce. Some symptoms of tumors include major headaches,
dizziness, nausea. many more symptoms that can eventually lead to death. It causes pressure on the
brain, sometimes tumors can start aggressive or some take a while. There are various types of brain
cancer, and one of these is known as primary.
Primary brain cancer is a main type. It mainly starts in the brain cells and forms around the
membrane and nerves. Primary brain cancer contains any tumor that starts in the brain. The specific
cause of primary brain cancer is unknown. Someone could inherit the faulty cells, and it is easier to
happen with someone who has a weaker immune system. Some risk factors are if a person is close to
radiation, have a head injury, smoking and cellphones. Those all can increase your risk of getting this.

Surgery is the preferred treatment for this type (Gale). When a person undergoes surgery, the
doctors cut out the tumor. This will help treat the cancer, because it is removing the mutated cells.
Secondary (which is most common) is cancer cells that spread throughout the body. Metastatic
brain tumors are much more common than primary brain tumors with more than 100,000 patients per
year in the United States dying from the effects of metastatic brain tumors (Carson-DeWitt et al).
Many people will die from secondary brain cancer than primary cancer. As discussed earlier, primary
brain cancer the person goes through surgery. Secondary and primary are similar but treated
differently. A person will need an MRI or CT scan. many symptoms of secondary are the same as
primary. It isn't possible to cure this disease but scientists are constantly searching for different ways
to deal with cancer. They are constantly working on a cure. the main option is to remove it from the
brain with surgery.
Brain tumors are caused by mutated cells that reproduce quickly, and when diagnosed with this
disease a person could have a primary or secondary cancer. Luckily, there are many different ways to
deal with this type of cancer . There are different ways to treat these cancers, even though they have
the same symptoms. There is no known cure for this disease but scientists are hard at work to find a
cure!
