Activity
Open House with FBLA table to recruit new
members. FBLA officers handed out brochures and
applications and answered questions.
Mr. Turner attended GA Great Promise Partnership
with other Work Based Learning personnel and
Business/Industry representatives to discuss Work
Based Learning recruiting practices and
placements.
Mr. Turner met with representatives from Shaw
Carpets, one of the largest employers in Northwest
GA, to discuss WBL placements.
Mr. Turner held weekly Work Based Learning
meetings with his students.
Mrs. Livsey worked with FBLA officers to create
FBLA Bulletin board. She also worked with them to
create Posters/flyers to be posted around the
school.
Mr. Turner corresponded with Ivan Alec Aguilar,
Corporate Support Specialist for Flexicrew Staffing,
regarding possible WBL placements.
Mrs. Livsey created a Business Department
brochure to promote our classes and FBLA.
Mr. Turner attended quarterly Work Based Learning
meeting and shared information with all students
regarding job opportunities and training
requirements.
New bulletin board to promote all the classes and
pathways. Posted flyers inviting all students to
FBLA meetings.
Mrs. McDermott contacted middle school guidance
counselors and teachers regarding recruitment for
the Web and Digital Design Pathway.
Mr. Turner met with Lisa DiPrima regarding WBL
placements. He then met with counselors and
administrators to work out the scheduling for each
student for both semesters.
Talked to all classes about course offerings and
showed them a chart of all CTAE courses with a
general description of each. Students did career
research and matched their career interests with
our course offerings.
Made Course Recommendations online for each
student in our 1st Semester class to continue with

our pathway.
Attended Business After Hours at the Academy to
meet with business people from the community
and the Chamber of Commerce. We all prepared
display boards, flyers, and brochures for each
pathway.
Made Course Recommendations online for each
student in our 2nd semester class to continue with
our pathway.
FBLA students set up a table outside the
lunchroom with our display boards to promote our
pathway. Students also distributed flyers and
answered questions about the pathway courses.
Counselors and Assistant Principal went to all
Middle Schools to meet with parents, counselors,
and students regarding registration for next year.
They also distributed our flyers and brochures.
Mrs. McDermott sent follow up email to middle
school counselors and business teachers regarding
recruitment for Web pathway.
