You will find todays lesson under the tab named The
Australian Bushmen under Gold Rush Adventures.

4. Students will log onto their devices and visit the web quest home
page

5. One member from each group of 4 is to complete this Australian


Bushmen experience lesson.
6. Students are instructed to read the By the end of this lesson section
at the beginning of the lesson so that they are aware of what they
should achieve by the end of the lesson.
7. Students are to create a KWL Chart based on the information
provided throughout the lesson
o

To begin with, the students will fill out the What do I Know?
(K) section. This is what the students already know about
the Australian Bushmen during the Gold Rush.
Students will then fill out the What do I want to Know (W)
section this is where they will write about information that
they want to find out more about, or aspects of the Gold
rush they find interesting and wish to develop their
understanding.
Students will then be instructed to complete their How will I
find out section (H) this is where they will write the
various resources presented to them

8. An informative student-made video about the Australian bushmen is


to be watched after they have completed the K, W, and H section
9. Once students have viewed the video, they will be instructed to add
interesting points they didnt know into the learned section of their
KWHL Chart
10. Students can then move onto task two
11. Task two requires students to watch another YouTube video titles
Australian Gold Rush
12. Once they have viewed the video, students will be required to
answer the following questions and add their responses to the KWL
Chart


What did the video say about violence and racism?
What did the angry bushmen do?
How is life different today, and how did the gold rush help
Australia to develop?
13. Students will then be instructed to visit websites about the miners
licence throughout the Gold Rush and answer the questions below

Did the miners help each other or allow the police to catch
them?
What did this mean for the amount of gold the miners
received?
o Did they lose gold as they were helping each other,
or did they make a larger profit as they turned each
other in?
Why did the government raise the prices?
Why couldn't the miners renew their license?
o What did this mean for their Gold Digging career?

14. After students have completed their work to the best of their ability,
they are to screenshot their KWHL chart and import the image/s
into the groups book creator app.
15. Students should then finish their Web Quest by completing the
Strike It Rich! Game as the Australian Miner
