Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Thesis: Dietrich Bonhoeffer took a stand and performed public radio announcements
against the Nazi control and also was active in planning assassination attempts against
Adolf Hitlers life.

For many years throughout the early 1900s, the jewish population was
dehumanized and tortured by the expanding Nazi control lead by Adolf Hitler. There
were many people that opposed Hitler, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was German, was
one of them. Dietrich Bonhoeffer took a stand and performed public radio
announcements against the Nazi control. He also was active in planning assassination
attempts against Adolf Hitlers life. Through Dietrich Bonhoeffers attempts to overthrow
the Nazi control, he was frequently banned and restricted from performing certain tasks
like his radio announcements.
There are many sources that will describe how Dietrich Bonhoeffer took action
against the Nazi regime. One of these sources that will be included is Victoria Barnetts
article Dietrich Bonhoeffers Ecumenical Vision which is a secondary source that will
show how he took a stand against the Nazi regime despite the possible consequences.
Another source that will be used is an article titled Dietrich Bonhoeffer that illustrates
a timeline of Bonhoeffers life and will possibly even show how events throughout his life
changed his viewpoints and actions. Similar to this source, "The Ambiguous Witness Of
Dietrich Bonhoeffer" shows how Bonhoeffer was very intelligent in his works and what

he was fighting for. This will help in the argument for the claim because it shows that
Deitrich Bonhoeffer was very knowledgeable in his works which may be one on the
causes to him gaining public support in the opposition towards the Nazi regime.
Another source that will be used is "Renate wind Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A spoke in the
wheel" which is a primary source by Dietrich Bonhoeffer which is a transcript his radio
announcements warning people about the dangers of the Nazi control. The primary
sources will dramatically strengthen the argument by showing precisely what
Bonhoeffer was doing and possibly even why he chose to do some of these actions
The thesis will be shown through a website, which will be divided into different
sections based on the actions taken by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. One of the actions that
was taken by Dietrich Bonhoeffer was his frequent radio announcements. Another is the
assassination attempt on Adolph Hitler that Bonhoeffer and others planned. Primary
sources of Bonhoeffers radio announcements and secondary sources of the
assassination attempt will show how Bonhoeffer took a stand against the rising Nazi
control.
