Sub: Indinising the irradiation treatment

Western governments more particularly USA is insisting for

the irradiation of all

different food imports though there is no conclusive proof of the effects of consuming the
irradiated food on human beings as well as environment .
It is an established fact that the usage of pests and insects to protect crops from the attack
of various pests and insects is, eliminating the micro nutrient fixing organisms in the soil thus
creating deficiency of valuable micro nutrients in the soil apart from environmental problems.
The present system of extracting edible oil through solvent extraction methods using
neurotoxin Hexogon a petrolium product which is carcinogenic . According to NCBI (U.S
Institute) which should be avoided by all means . But still we are continuing the same process for
edible oil extraction .
extraction of edidle oils from rice bran and cotton seed through steam distilation using
curcumin fumes added to the steam depolying solar energy for generating steam is the safest
method and it siuts Make In India campaign . Healthy edible oil can be extracted avoiding
carcino genic elements in edible oil.
We have observed a link between regular consumption of iodin salt linked to the
incidence of the thyroid problems on a large scale. In every nook and corner of the country you
will find a thyro care centre. As we know the iodine requirement is very very small quantity
more over the various foods which are now available will supplement the requirement of iodin to
a large extent and to people living in most parts of the country leaving apart a few pockets of
hilly region .
Doctors do not agree with this contention of link between surplus iodine to the incidence
of thyroid diseases simply by a arguing that surplus iodin will get away from the body through
urin but the same doctors warn us not to use more salt as it a eeffects the blood pressure . In the
case of surplus iodine they are silent saying it will be driven away . This denial amply proves
that there is no proper study under taken so far , The effects of surpluse iodine in the human body
for continuesly longer duration . Hence I request your good office to confine the irradiation

treat ment for export consign ments only rather than for local food items even if some people
may demand to introduce the same treatment for local supplies.
In this context I would like to submit that studying the feasibility of curcumin fumigation
in place of irradiation curcumin a basic product of turmeric is having wide applications for good
health and for storing the items for longer period . Fumigation with various intensities basing on
the food items will definitely replace irradiation method for keeping food products out of
pathogens and other aspects will also be addressed
If we carefully under take a study of probable natural items for isolating the required
irradiating elements apart from curcumin there is ample scope to identify many more natural
irradiating elements.
I sincerely request your good selves to consider my plea - to under take - scientific
evaluation of the above facts through assigning the study at various concerned laboratories
scientific evaluation is needed to prove the above contention. Hence kindly facilitate me to carry
out the required scientific evaluation of the curcumin as an irradiating element . for which I will
be ever great full to you sir
