Centrifugal Compressor Operation & Maintenance

Overview

This course is designed to provide the participants with theory and

practice of centrifugal compressor operation and maintenance. An
overview of compressor design and components will be given. The
failure and wear modes related to compressor operation will be
explained and the proper maintenance action will be explained with
concentration on practical aspects. Tools and techniques will be
shown and related to the proper maintenance tasks.

Objective

Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained the

following knowledge and skills
1. Identify the systems and components of the centrifugal
compressor and its working principles.
2. Explain the modes of wear and failures of each system and/ or
component.
3. Perform the needed action to eliminate or mitigate each
failure mode
4. Set up the preventive maintenance program for the centrifugal
compressor.
5. Troubleshoot and identify the cause of compressor
malfunction.

Methodolgy

A mix of classroom lectures, power point presentation, video

animation as well as group discussions and case studies.
