CHAPTER I

INTORDUCTION
A. Background of Study
Mathematic is one of sciences existing curriculum in
every school, from elementary school, middle school, high
school, even in university. Mathematics commonly taught in
schools is original mathematics, that exist in every schools.
But,

there

are

some

difficulty

in

calculating

some

mathematical formulas, such as multiplication, division, and

others.
There are also other mathematical models, one of them
is vedic mathematics. In vedic mathematics, there are some
little difference techniques in calculation. So, the writer takes
a title The Differences Between Original Mathematics and
Vedic Mathematics in Calculation.

B. Formulation of Problem
The writer needs to make formulation of problem to
make it easier as follow:
1. What are the differences between original mathematics
and vedic mathematics?
2. What are the techniques which used in calculating original
mathematics and vedic mathematics?

C. Purpose of Study
The Written of this paper also has a purpose, among
others is:
1. To know the different between original mathematics and
vedic mathematic in calculation.
2. To know techniques used in

calculating

original

mathematics and vedic mathematics.

D.Source of Research
The method who used by the writer is Library Research
namely:
1. Taking the data sources that founded in the library by
recording data from the book.
2. Processing data to produce some scientific data in this
paper.

E. Method of Collecting Data

The writers method in collecting data is by reading
books which is connected with the discussion of this paper
and collecting data to make it as completed data.

F. Method of Analyzing Data

1. Deductive

Method:

Analyzing

data

begins

from

the

generally concept to the specific conclusion.

2. Inductive Method: Analyzing data by taking concept from
the general to conclusion.

G.Systematic of Discussion
This paper discuses about The Differences Between
Original Mathematics and Vedic Mathematics in Calculation
The writer uses systematic as follow:
Chapter One: INTRODUCTION

This chapter contains background of study,

formulation of problem, purpose of study,
method of collecting data, method of analyzing
data, and systematic of discussion.
Chapter Two: MATHEMATICS
This chapter discusses about the meaning of
Mathematics,
Mathematics,
Mathematics

the meaning of Original

the
and

meaning
Miscellaneous

of

Vedic

Calculation

Concept in Mathematics.
Chapter Three:
THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ORIGINAL
MATHEMATICS AND VEDIC MATHEMATICS IN
CALCULATION
There are chapter discusses two problems: The
different between Original Mathematics and
Vedic Mathematics, and The techniques used in
Calculating.
Chapter Four: CLOSING
The last chapter contains the conclusion of
discussion, suggestion, and closing.
