Description of how to implement in the class: Students will watch the Brain Pop video on Main
Idea. After watching and discussing the video, I will hand out copies of the graphic organizer given
in the Activities under the video. Prior to this day, students will be asked to bring in an article of
their choice. The article can be from a magazine, newspaper, a blog, or any other news source. This
will cover the diverse media listed in the standard. With this article, students will list the main
idea, at least 2 supporting details and any related facts. After completing their organizers, students
will share theirs with the people at their tables.
