Anticipatory Set: 5mins


Disney music will be playing when the students walk in.
Haley and Kenzie will be dressed as 101 Dalmatian puppies
Lesson Objectives:
Describe traits and attributes of the 101 Dalmatians that relate to
certain parts in designing an environmentally friendly car.

Activities
(Step by step - what is going to happen during the lesson?)

20mins
1. Discuss our driving question
2. Read aloud- have the students move to the reading corner to read the
101 Dalmatians book. Other presenters not reading will ask questions
throughout.
3. Introduce interactive Tri-fold
4. Explain paper activity/ have students do the activity - have students
separate into their 5 groups and brainstorm characteristics of the 101
Dalmatians and relate those to the car parts listed.
5. Class discussion - have groups share what they came up with and
have them help us design our car as a demonstration.

Conclusion

Exit Cards: The students will answer a question on their exit cards about what 5mins
environmentally safe material they will use to create their devices as well as
the name of the character they choose.
