(Horizontal Pit type Kaplan Turbine) (12x8MW) and Neelum Jhelum HydroElectric Project (969 MW).

Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project of Capacity (242.25 4) 969 MW at Chatter Kalas, Muzaffarabad.
China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) are
working as the Contractor of the power plant.
Monitor the Mechanical Activities (draft tube, bonnet-ed gates, turbines, inlet valve, spiral case, pen-stocks,
manifold, pumps and cranes) Carried out by the Contractor for conformance with the provisions of the
Contract Documents, Procedures manuals and codes and standards.
Coordinate and supervise the work of all mechanical activities according to drawings and design
specification
Inspection of incoming materials, Mechanical parts and sub assemblies; mark and complete appropriate
documentation to assure compliance with P.O. requirements and specifications
Marks items for acceptance or rejection, records test results and inspection data, and compares findings
with specifications to assure quality and completion of Project within the scope of applicable codes and
standards. .
Review the work performed by Contractor at site for conformance with Client conditions and assures
its appropriate relationship to existing installations, and if required, redesign and recommend necessary
modifications.
Read and Analyses Drawings, Manuals, Verify Measurements of Mechanical Equipment, and Test the
Ascribed Capabilities record and maintain inspection and test records
This project is a peculiar type because it is being built in the tunnel for the 1st time in Pakistan. The
construction of the project is underway.

RESIDENT ENGINEER at ACE, Prv Ltd Lahore


January 2014 - Present (3 years)
Resident Engineer Mechanical with Neelum Jhelum HydroPower Project Consultants $3 Billion, has
assigned the responsibilities for the supervision of four (4) Hydel units (underground powerhouse) of Francis
Turbines ( Vertical Shaft ) is being installed at Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project of Capacity (242.25
4) 969 MW at Chatter Kalas, Muzaffarabad. China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and China

Director (Electrical&Mechanical) at Jinnah Hydropower Project ,WAPDA


September 2011 - April 2013 (1 year 8 months)
Jinnah Hydropower is an EPC/Turnkey project with M/S Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) China. It is
located along the right side of the Jinnah Barrage. It is eight (8) unit Power House, each unit of 12 MW with
total generating capacity of 96 MW. It is equipped with Kaplan pit type horizontal turbines.
I Worked as Director (E&M), my duties are to supervise the erection of mechanical and Electrical
equipment, site testing and commissioning of the plant prior to handing over to WAPDA. Major erection
works carried out are as follows;
Turbines its major components are i.e., Stay Ring Assembly, Pit Liner, Wicket Gate Operating Mechanism
Assembly, Runner Hub with Runner Blades, Main Shaft and its Bearing and Seals, Oil Head, Speed
Increaser, Generator resting on Pedestal Bearings which completely mounted on skid platform for erection
etc.
Its auxiliary equipment i.e. compressed air system, lubricating and insulating oil system, Generator Oil
Supply System, HVAC system, cooling water supply system, Water Supply for Fire Fighting System etc.
Gantry cranes provided at Upstream & Downstream of Powerhouse for handling of bulk heads & Stop logs.
Trash Rack cleaning\ Assembly also provided on Upstream Gantry Crane.
Trash rake cleaning machine (TRCM).
Review of drawings submitted by consultants/contractors about Turbines, Governor Hydraulic\ Steel
Structure, Cranes Elevators, HVAC and miscellaneous Auxiliaries mechanical equipment.
Field monitoring, inspection /testing and checking of mechanical installations during erection.
Remained associate with the Jinnah hydro power project consultants/ contractor beyond the call of my duty
to keep track with the outstanding matters/problems of different equipments of the powerhouse in the interest
of the Authority.
Note:
Also worked as Acting Chief Engineer & PD at Jinnah Hydropower Project Kalabagh.
Retired from WAPDA service on 09/04/2013 on attaining the age of superannuation.

Resident Engineer is over all administrative in-charge of 184 MW Chashma Hydel Power Station. He is
responsible for Operation & Maintenance of Power House as well as CHP WAPDA Colony. Five Senior

Worked as Senior Engineer Mechanical maintenance at Chashma Hydel Power Station 184 Megawatt and
responsible for routine / trouble maintenance of all the mechanical equipment installed in Chashma Hydel
Power Station like turbines, governors, compressors, pumps, trash rack cleaners, cranes, air supply system,
oil pressure system, lubricating oil system, high pressure system, elevated oil tank, runner pressurizing tank,
leakage oil sump tank, governor, water supply system, station service air system, draft tube gates, bulk head
gates, stop logs etc.

Senior Engineer at Mangla Raising Project,WAPDA


April 2003 - July 2005 (2 years 4 months)
Worked also as Senior Engineer, mechanical & responsible for routine maintenance and trouble shooting of
auxiliary equipment's i.e. fire fighting systems, cranes, compressors, pumps elevators, draft tube gates etc. of
10X100 MW of Mangla Power Station.
I also worked as Senior Engineer Mechanical with Mangle Raising consultant for tender preparation and
Mangle rising project design review intake gates, allied machinery and accessories.

Deputy Director (Senior Engineer Mechanical ) at Chashma Hydro Power Project ,WAPDA
January 1995 - June 2001 (6 years 6 months)
Remained associate with the consultant/ contractor beyond the call of my duty to keep tracked with the
outstanding matters/problems of different equipment of the power house in the I was posted at this power
station January 1999 when the erection of the powerhouse was started. I carried out the following jobs to
achieve the target.
Supervised the installation of 8 Bulb turbines, each 23 MW and total capacity 184 MW at Chashma Power
Project.
Carried out shop inspection of the turbine parts at manufacturer plant in Japan.
Supervised welding operations for Draft Tube lining and their installation.
Supervised installation of piping work for turbines and generators and conducted their pressure tests.
Inspected gates valves and other related material at manufacturer premises before
Review of drawings submitted by consultants/contractors about Turbines, Governor Hydraulic\ Steel
Structure, Draft Tube Gates, Stop Logs, Bulk Heads, Cranes Elevators, HVAC and miscellaneous Auxiliaries
mechanical equipment
Field monitoring, inspection and checking of mechanical installations during erection.
As well as dealing with Mechanical and Electrical contract to check interim payment certificate.
