BAUER ultrasonic

(KODEN)
Verticality measurements for bore holes and diaphragm wall trenches
BAUER's ultrasonic devices (KODEN)
are used to measure the alignment of
partially cased or uncased bore holes
and diaphragm wall trenches. The use
of ultrasound technology allows meas-
urements to be taken in water or ben-
tonite suspension. The density of the
suspension must not exceed 1.15 t/m.

The deviation of the bore hole or trench

from the perpendicular and any surface
cavities in the bore hole or trench wall
are measured.

The ultrasonic measurement probe is

suspended vertically from a cable and
lowered into the object to be surveyed.

At the same time, orthogonal waves

are continuously emitted from the
device and reflected from the walls.

The reflected waves are registered by

measurement sensors. The distances,
calculated as a function of wave speed
150 m KODEN measurement on bored pile and reflection time, are presented in
graphic form.

The alignment of the BAUER ultrasonic

device matches the axes marked out
for the cutter or drill rig. The Y-axis runs
perpendicular to the device location.
The X-axis generally relates to the lon-
gitudinal face of the diaphragm wall.
The reverse co-ordinates are defined
as X and Y. Digital control and logging system
