LAWS AND STANDARDS

Restrictions in use of Chemical Elements and Substances according to IOS-MAT-0010.

Multi and Consumer packages shall be date stamped according to IOS-M-0002.

The product shall fulfill the Fire Safety Requirement for Seating furniture as specified in
IOS-PRF-0021

Labels or markings intended for identifying the product in store or in the goods handling shall fulfil
the the requirements according to IOS-PRG-0019.

The product shall be marked and datestamped as specified in IOS-M-0003.

Furniture fabrics shall fulfill the general requirements according to IOS-PRF-0009.

All packaging shall comply with IOS-P-0010

Requirements to avoid foreign objects in textile products.

Minimum requirement for IKEA supplier/subsupplier to avoid presence of metal parts

(whole or parts of needles, scissors etc) or non-metallic foreign objects in products delivered.

A. A procedure for the issuing of needles, scissors or other metal tools to operators,
and to ensure collection of all parts when a needle, scissors etc is broken or missing.
All transactions to be documented, including broken parts to be attached in a log book.
If all parts of a broken needle, scissors etc cannot be recovered, then all items produced
by that operator is to be isolated and examined by metal detector.
Corresponding procedure to cover any non-metallic objects (or parts thereof), which may
contaminate a textile product.

B. Metal detector examination.

As a minimum requriement, all finished products must pass through a metal detector
prior to packing. Regular calibration every two hours of the metal detector is to be carried
out, ensuring a detector-sensitivity of at least 1.5 mm diameter of metal objects.
Detector is to be handled by a trained operator. The testing area (packing area) is to be
assigned as a no metal area.

Assembly instructions shall be printed as specified in IOS-PRG-0022.

Quality requirements according to specifcation IOS-PRF-0025, column Linings, Non-woven lining to

be fulfilled.

Measurement

Measurements according to M-images using Key and Critical measurements for each function.
Key measurements are marked in green color on Mimages
Critical measurements are marked in red on Mimages.

Others

Wash test fabric: Test to be performed by supplier according to careinstructions for the
readymade product. Alternatively to get testcertificate from fabric supplier.
This to be done on each new lot of fabric.

Wash test cover: Test of the cover to be performed by supplier according to careinstructions
for the readymade product.
This to be done before productionstart and in running production according
to agreement.

Fit test Cover: Covers has to be continously assembled on approved frame during production
to ensure the size and the quality.
