Learning Reflections
1. What are you hoping to accomplish in this MBA Program?

Answer: I have 7 goals to accomplish of this master in business administration program

as below:

Higher salary: The average salary for an MBA graduate is considerably higher than that
of an employee with a regular master qualification.

Better career opportunities: Graduates of an MBA program have, due to their

qualification, higher chances of obtaining and holding a high-level management position.
This type of position brings along a higher salary but of course also a higher responsibility
and longer working hours.

Better consolidated business network: As an MBA student, we have great networking

opportunities. Through this type of study we get to know and interact in a relevant manner
with colleagues (future high-level managers), professors and teaching staff (usually former
or current potent business people, with great on-field experience). This extensive, well
consolidate business network is bound to pay off throughout your whole career making
you the first-hand recipient of all relevant information in the field and giving you better
chances at seizing the best opportunities.

New skill and knowledge acquisition: MBA education is usually pursued in a very
specific situation by a young professional senior employees that feel up for the challenge.
Studying a Master of Business Administration deal with the latest issues, apply the newest
management techniques and just constantly challenge myself, practices and my
approaches.

A holistic perspective on the business world: Studying an MBA we become part of a

great network of professionals and companies and constantly challenge us with the newest
problem-solving. These things together give you a great overview of the business world, a
deep understanding and a certain receptiveness to the slight changes of this environment.

Polish written communication skills: Because the MBA is a master's-level academic

program, generally have to produce a 20- to 30-page report for each class subject. The
ability to research business topics and develop written comprehensive analyses quickly has
been enormously helpful to me in my role.

Learn standard tools for organizing business activity and managing business
processes: The MBA gave me the tools, techniques and resources like risk management
plans, performance plans, project management methodologies, steering committees,
process maps and marketing plans

2. What leadership qualities would you like to develop or improve?

Answer: Leadership encompasses a variety of qualities and skills. A good leader is

someone who is able to manage people and tasks, communicate effectively, and foster a
positive team environment. Try to develop your leadership qualities by analyzing your
strengths and weaknesses, and setting a good example for colleagues.

Step1: Analyzing Your Leadership Qualities

Ask yourself what kind of leader you are: If you want to develop your leadership
skills, its important that you honestly analysis your strengths and weaknesses. Start
by asking yourself what kind of leader am I?
Consider how others might see you: It will be helpful to consider how other people
think of you as a leader. This could be your colleagues at work, or friends at school
or college.
Identify areas to improve: These questions will help highlight which leadership
qualities you are strong in, and which you need to improve. Firstly, note those
qualities you feel you are very strong on. Secondly, identify which areas need some
improvement. Thirdly, determine which areas you are weak on, and need
considerable attention.
Step 2: Improving Your Communication Skills

Enable effective dialogue: One of the keys to good communication is enabling

positive and sometimes robust dialogue on problems and solutions. There are
different styles of leadership, but someone who consistently shuts down debates
and stifles discussions is unlikely to command the support of others for too long.
Have positive body language: Positive body language can help you come across as
dynamic, open and cooperative. One good rule is to have body language that is
consistent with what you are saying. Dont ask someone to do something while
looking down at the floor. Instead make eye contact and be open and engaging.
Be an active listener: To be a good communicator, you need to be a good listener.
This is an important leadership quality to develop. Body language is important, so
try to maintain eye contact with the person you are talking to.
Step 3: Leading By Example
Use initiative: One aspect of good leadership is being quick and decisive to act to
solve a problem. A strong leader can be someone who is prepared to take the lead
in situations without necessarily being asked to.
Take responsibility: To set a strong example as a leader its essential that you take
responsibility for your individual tasks and priorities as well as your team as a
whole.

Keep improving your skills: One way to demonstrate good leadership skills is to
always be alert to new possibilities to learn and develop your capabilities. Showing
a continuous desire to improve yourself and your work can be a motivating factor
for those around you.
Provide a vision: A good leader is someone who can provide a clear and compelling
vision for the short term and longer term future. The ability to plan ahead, think
strategically, and develop priorities are all hallmarks of strong leaders.
Step 4: Facilitating Good Teamwork
Motivate others: For teamwork you need motivated colleagues. One of the best
ways for a leader to motivate her colleagues is pay attention to them and make it
clear that you are there to provide support and help when required.
Commend good work: An important part of motivating others is commending good
work. Look for opportunities to praise people for a job well done, and demonstrate
that you appreciate what they are doing.
Cooperate instead of competing: It can be tempting to try to prompt better work by
creating a competitive environment amongst your colleagues. Developing a more
cooperative work culture often leads to more effective working and better
relationships.
Be visible and approachable: Its important that you are available to your
colleagues. Remember that a good leader is someone who not only gets the task
done, but is also concerned with helping her colleagues develop and achieve their
potential.
