are announcing in the categories, the themes:
1. THE PORTRAIT CARICATURE "ZIKISON"

WITHOUT WORDS. How do caricaturists imagine
"Žikišon" and his life time?
2. THE CARICATURE WITHOUT WORDS – FREE

FORM. For both of categories you can send up to 3
works on A/4 size of paper, up to 200 KB by E-mail,
any technique is allowed.
3. THE SHORT ALTERNATIVE COMIC STRIP –

FREE FORM. A board needs to content up to 6 squares , A/3 format, up 400 KB by E-mail, any
technique is allowed, up to 3 boards in a work or 3 boards of a single strip.
The competition will be opened and free for all of the professionals and amateurs, for affirmed and
unknown authors from 7 to 77 years of age, for all people on this planet but in the case if someone
appears from other planet then we will become the first interplanetar competition.
AWARDS: The first award in each of three categories - a presentation on a particular page on the site
www.zikison.net and Electronic weekly news žIKIšON and kiks (Caricature and Short Cartoon).

author’s short biography and photography. All of received works will not be returned to the senders.
The organization of this project keeps the right for using and publishing of received works for the
organization’s needs.

ZIKISON (1885. - 1950.): Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between
two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co – Author editor of many of newspaper for humor and satire.
He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and
seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

Editorship of Odessa magazine «Delovaya Sreda», newspaper «Bazar.» and Association of Odessa
Cartoonists announce holding of International Cartoon Contest named «CITY and SEA».
Located at the Black Sea coast Odessa City is a center of international tourism, shipping, industry.
Odessa Architecture reflects different styles and epochs, and it adds special color to this city. Mild
climate, plenty of sun, cozy beaches make this city being a center of Ukrainian tourism. Multinationality of
Odessa and tolerance of Odessa citizens have created a specific sense of humor.
The theme of contest is «City and Sea». Events, people, nature, architecture can be reflected in
humorous manner, possibly with Russian or English inscriptions.
PARTICIPATION TERMS:
1) Every cartoonist can participate in the contest.

2) Cartoons (electronic copies) can be performed in any technique. Number of cartoons are limited to
five. Cartoons awarded at other cartoon contests can also participate.
3) Deadline of works reception – August 25, 2008, but if participants want their works to be exhibited in
tourists attendance places and participate in the contest of audience sympathy, the works should be sent
as soon as possible.
4) Works sent to the contests would be exhibited during the period from July 1 till September 3 being
accessible in Odessa City.
3) Works have to send by e-mail and should have 300 dpi resolution, А4 size in JPEG or PDF format of
1,5 Mb maximum.
5) Summary and announcement of the winner would take place within the framework of holiday events
dedicated to Odessa City Day – September 2, 2008.
6) PRIZES
PRIZES OF FOUNDERS 1 prize – $ 1000, 2 prize – $ 500, 3 prize – $ 300, AUDIENCE SYMPATHY
AWARD – $ 500 (to be determined by voting of exhibition visitors)
An institution of special prizes from the sponsors of International Cartoon Contest Odessa-2008 «CITY
and SEA» is also possible.
7) Works sent to the contest can be used by the founders for production of promotional materials and for
the broadcast in internet.
8) Each cartoon is to be sent by a separate message with the inquiry form of the artist, address, e-mail
address and author’s photo attached to.
9) The artists agree that their works can be used in the demonstrations in Ukraine and abroad by
participation in the contests
10) Exhibition CD catalogue will be send to each of the exebition participant.

First Retrofitting International Cartoon Contest

Regulations
As First Retrofitting cartoon festival is going to be held in Tabriz on October 2008 and we will be
honored if you accept our invitation and send your cartoon to us.
Retrofitting International Cartoon Competition is held in Tabriz by Retrofitting National Organization.
The competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.
General Information
1) Theme: Innovation in Construction Industry / building retrofitting against earthquake.

Goals: Preventing non engineering structures focusing on village houses / using modern technology
in building.
2) Participants take part in the competition with an original cartoon. Cartoons must be signed by the
cartoonist in case that they are submitted as computer print outs. Photographs, photocopies, etc., will
not be accepted.
3) Size of cartoons should not exceed 29.7 x 42 cm (A3 paper size.) and there is no limit for sending
cartoons
4) The Organization will not be responsible for damage that may occur during postage and handling.
5) Competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.
6) Participants are expected to send the filled in participation form, a short curriculum vitae with
photograph together with their cartoons. Otherwise applications will not be considered.
7) The Jury composed of foreign members will meet in September 2008.
8) Award-winning cartoons will not be returned to the artists.
9) By filling in the entrance form attached, the participant declares and accepts in advance that (S)he
has turned over the financial rights (S)he holds over the cartoon or cartoons vis-à-vis the public to the
Iran Retrofitting National Center (INRC) without limitations on location, time period and number
including assignment to third parties under Articles 21-25 of the Law on Intellectual Property Rights
for publication. (S)he agrees that the Iran Retrofitting National Organization may use such cartoons,
exhibit them, keep them in its archives and publish them on the Internet or through other media.
10) Retrofitting 1st International Cartoon Contest will be celebrated with an award ceremony in
October 2008 in Tabriz.
11) Deadline for entries is Wednesday October 1st, 2008.

17. 06. je u beogradskom Francuskom kulturnom
centru održana velika izložba 40 godina francuskog
stripa u Stripoteci. Na taj način je počeo niz
manifestacija povodom obeležavanje četrdesete
godine izlaženja Stripoteke, najznačajnijeg i
najdugovečnijeg strip magazina na prostoru bivše
Jugoslavije. Za Francuski kulturni centar je
svakako značajno što je Stripoteka od prvog broja
objavljivala stripove francusko-belgijske škole.
Svakako je značajno što je i danas u magazinu, kao Đorđe Milović ispred pobedničkog stripa,
i u albumskoj produkciji, dominantan strip iste inače i naš saradnik u PDF Dugoj Devetki
"škole", tako da je ova izložba samo stavila "pečat"
na tu činjenicu, na tu vezu.
Izložbu su otvorili direktorka Francuskog
kulturnog centra Korina Koman, direktor
Marketprinta Slavko Draginčić kao i Vlada Vesović
strip autor i predavač beogradske škole stripa.
Povodom izložbe je održan i strip konkurs sa
temom "Tajanstveni život Žila Verna" te su
dodeljene nagrade najboljim radovima. Prvu
nagradu, u iznoso od 500 eura, je za svoj rad dobio
Đorđe Milović, druga nagrada je dodeljena stripu
Branka Ricova i Zorana Žmirića iz Hrvatske, dok je
treću nagradu dobila Aleksandra Vidaković.
Drugoplasirani i trećeplasirana su dobili po komplet
albuma Tornjeva Boa-Morija kao i knjigu Svetozara
Tomića "Do visina Olimpa".
Naravno, veoma bitan segment izložbe su i
posetioci kojih je bilo uistinu veliki broj i među
kojima je bio veliki broj značajnih imena istorije
Stripoteke i domaćeg stripa. Takođe je važno
spomenuti da su sve veće nacionalne televizije,
kao i neke manje (RTS, B92, Avala, TV Enter...) u
svojim glavnim informativnim emisijama dali
kvalitetne i dugačke reportaže o izložbi i
stripotekinom jubileju, dok je radio 202 imao tim
dobili zasluženu pažnju i podršku. kiks
