LESSON PLAN
Students already have some background information about dinosaurs and know some types of dinosaurs. In this
lesson they will build on their prior knowledge about dinosaurs.
Lesson Objectives: (What will students be able to do by the end of the lesson?)
o Understand the new vocabulary (Years ago, millions, thousands, lay eggs, fossils, scientists).
o Write sentences using the new vocabulary.
o Listen for specific information in a text about dinosaurs.
o Discuss what they know about dinosaurs.
o Understand general information about dinosaurs.
Attitudes:
o Respect each other opinions (I will ask them open questions so they have to respect each other
opinions and responses).
o Its acceptable to make mistakes. (Students might mispronounce some words while they repeating
the vocabulary and the sentences and I should mention to them you should try and its fine to make
mistakes).
o To work cooperatively (Students should work cooperatively to accomplish any task I assign to them
as group work).
Knowledge/Understanding:
o Students will increase their learning about different vocabulary, descriptive words.
o Students will apply the knowledge that they have learned to solve some questions.
o Students will increase their knowledge and awareness of friendship.

Skills:
Evaluation / Assessment: (How will you know your students have achieved the lesson objectives?)
First of all, during the activity time I will observe the students and see who want help then I will
scaffold the students who need one to one support and I will set with them to help them. Moreover,
I will write some field notes about students to help me plan for the next lesson. To be more specific
I will write about things that they struggle in about dinosaurs and things that they struggle in
writing.
Personal focus
In this lesson I am working on my two goals which is assessment and differentiation. First, for the assessment I will
use observation strategy and I will use field notes to write while assessing the students; to clarify, I will write about
things that they struggle in about dinosaurs and things that they struggle in writing. Second, for differentiation I will
use two strategies which is one to one support and using differentiation by task. For one to one support I will set
with the students and help them. For differentiation by task I will give the students worksheet that include questions
which progressively getting harder and harder.
In this lesson I am working on professionalism competence. Professionalism is very significant for teachers so in this
lesson I will work on it. I will prepare everything before the lesson such as the presentation, the worksheets and the
video. Being prepared before the lesson is important and show that the teacher is professional in her job. This will
help me a lot to be always organized and not waste class time to prepare. Also, for the whole week I will come before
the class starts and I will prepare all the materials and resources for the lesson.
Teaching Strategies:
Teaching strategies: using modeling strategy such as model sentences for them by write it in the board, using
dialogue teacher to students and student to student. Also, I will link the lesson to their own experience to
maximum students interest for instance, I will ask them about their best dinosaur or if they like them or
not.
Classroom management strategies: using the rules and remind the students of them, use gestures because
that affect a lot on students and manage the class. Also, I will use phrases to stop them from work and
the one that I been using it with them is stop, look and listen and they replay we are listening. Moreover,
I will use MENTOS because it include every aspect related to manage the classroom.
Behavioral management strategies: using eye contact for example; when any student misbehave I will look
into their eyes until they stop misbehaving, use ripple effect by correct students behavior so it affects

positively in the other students. Also, if someone misbehave I will stop the class and say when you finish
just tell me and I will use it in serious situation. Moreover, I will use the group discipline system; for
instance, when someone in the group misbehave I will put for them yellow face.
Feedback strategies: Use verbal feedback such as good, very good, excellent, good job, well done, think
about it and all these verbal feedback depends on the students response. Expanding this kind of
feedback; during discussion time I will give students feedback on their responses to let them think more
about the issue that they have to discuss it.
