    Week One:
    The Skeleton Woman & The Voice of Silence

    This week we will delve into the elements of fiction. What makes a story work? What do we as
    readers notice happening in the story. For this first story we will attempt to go on our gut. What
    does the story make you as a reader feel, think, or wonder? What are the connections to the
    modern world? Below are some questions to get your group started.

    Discuss:

    Did you like/dislike the story? Discuss. (Off limit words which when used need explanation: weird,
    boring, too long, interesting, confusing.)

    Is there meaning/significance: to you or others?

    What about context(the wider historical/cultural perspective which surrounds the story)

    Apply:

    Locate example(s) in source text which support your arguments, claim, discussion. If not, was there
    a line that stood out?
