ACT 1.
EXT. SPACE STATION - MID-DAY.
The Astronaut looks ahead confidently. She adorns her helmet
and walks towards the camera.
The astronaut walks up to her space craft, before she opens
the door to the rocket, she turns around and waves.
The camera pans through a crowd of people that are cheering
for her.
INT. ASTRONAUT'S FAMILY'S LIVING ROOM - MOMENTS LATER
CU of a TV screen, showing the same shot of the crowd of
people. with the title 'MISSION TO MARS' At the bottom of
the screen.
LONG SHOT of the Astronauts family, crowded round the TV,
cheering for her.The Rocket soars into the sky.
INT. THE SPACE CRAFT - SPACE
POV shot of the Astronaut looking out of her space craft and
at the space surrounding her. She looks astounded. She
flicks a couple switches on the board in front of her and
slumps lazily into her chair, a contented expression on her
face. She folds her arms behind her head slowly closes her
eyes.
FLASHBACK INT. ASTRONAUT'S FAMILY'S LIVING ROOM
Close up shot of certificate of Astronaut being accepted
into University. CUT to MEDIUM SHOT of the ASTRONAUT looking
teary eyed, but happy. CUT to INT. NASA SPACE STATION. Her
BOSS gives the ASTRONAUT the mission to Mars. CUT to the
Astronaut's family congratulating her and hugging her.
INT. THE SPACE CRAFT - SPACE
The ASTRONAUT still has her eyes shut. An asteroid is seen
approaching her ship. Suddenly, the ship starts flashing red
warning lights. The astronaut snaps her eyes to her window
and watches the asteroid hurtle towards her. The asteroid
crashes into the ship and the ASTRONAUT is ejected into
space. Silence surrounds her. All that can be heard is her
panicked breathing.
INT. ART GALLERY - AFTERNOON
BOSS
(Sharply)"Bailey."

The BOSS Snaps her fingers in front of Bailey's face.

BOSS (CONT'D)
"get back to work. Immediately."
BAILEY'S BOSS throws a vacuum cleaner at Bailey and she
barely catches it. She continues to lecture BAILEY but
BAILEY doesn't pay attention, Her BOSS'S voice drowned out
of her mind.
BAILEY looks at the painting in front of her, She can see
Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh and paintings from Space
Odyssey. She looks disheartened. Her face contorts into an
angry expression. She grabs the vacuum cleaner aggressively.
Her BOSS Stops talking mid sentence and stares, Dumbfounded
at BAILEY. BAILEY sits atop the vacuum cleaner and presses
the on button, sparks start to flare from the bottom of the
vacuum cleaner. The vacuum becomes a makeshift Rocket.
BAILEY stares at her boss and sticks her tongue out at her .
She flies through the ceiling and back into space, entering
her dream world once more.
