Finding The Graves Disease Trigger Worksheet

When trying to find the Graves' Disease trigger, it is very common to hit roadblocks. What are the three common
roadblocks discussed during the video?

THE DIFFERENT TRIGGERS: The triad of autoimmunity states that in order for an autoimmune condition such as Graves
Disease to develop you need the following three factors: 1) a genetic predisposition, 2) an environmental trigger, and 3)
an increase in intestinal permeability (a leaky gut). Fortunately genetics isnt the most important factor, and if one
removes the environmental trigger and heals the gut then this will help greatly in reversing the autoimmune
component. It can be challenging to find the autoimmune trigger, but this worksheet should at least help to point you in
the right direction.

FOODS

1. Are there any foods that commonly cause digestive symptoms such as bloating and gas?

2. Are there any foods that cause other symptoms (i.e. fatigue, brain fog, etc)?

3. Have you ever gone on a gluten-free trial for at least 30 days? If so, did you notice any improvement in your
symptoms or blood tests?

4. Have you ever gone on a dairy-free trial for at least 30 days? If so, did you notice any improvement in your symptoms
or blood tests?

5. Have you avoided any other foods which caused an improvement in your symptoms or tests?

STRESS

1. Did you deal with a lot of stress one year prior to being diagnosed with Graves Disease?
2. Did you deal with a lot of stress five years prior to being diagnosed with Graves Disease?

3. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst, how would you rate your STRESS LEVELS prior to being diagnosed with
Graves Disease?

4. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst, how would you rate your STRESS HANDLING prior to being diagnosed
with Graves Disease?

5. Did you overexercise on a regular basis prior to being diagnosed with Graves Disease?

6. Have you ever had an adrenal saliva panel done? If so, how did the cortisol and DHEA look?

BLOOD SUGAR IMBALANCES

1. Do you have any known or suspected blood sugar imbalances?

2. Do you experience an increase in energy after eating?

NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES

1. Have you ever been tested for a Vitamin D deficiency?
