This Rules and Regulation shall implement to assure the comfort, efficiency, and safety of the
Hemodialysis treatment of all patients.

A. HEMODIALYSIS SCHEDULE
The patients and the unit will agree upon a treatment schedule to follow. The said schedule should be
strictly followed to avoid delay or inconveniences to other patients.
AM Shift : 8AM 12NN (Hooking time is from 7:30AM to 8AM)
PM Shift : 1PM 5PM (Hooking time is from 12:30PM to 1PM)

B. VISITORS AND COMPANIONS


1. For security and infection control, you are allowed to have maximum of one (1) companion
in the treatment area. The rest of the companions are required to stay at the waiting area.
2. Children below seven (7) years old are not allowed inside the Hemodialysis Unit.

C. HOUSE RULES
1. Hemodialysis treatments will start on the designated scheduled time per shift and not earlier.
2. Each patient is given a 30 minutes grace period from the designated shift start. If a patient
arrives 30 minutes to 1 and a half hour late for his/her scheduled treatment, this may either be
deducted from the treatment time.
3. If a patient arrives 1 hour late he/she must pay an additional hour of P700
4. If a patient arrives 2 hours late, this will be considered as Emergency treatment .(The hospital
pays great attention in strictly following schedules because any delay or unexpected changes
will affect not only the unit, but other patients as well).
5. For urgent personal or medical reasons, patient will be allowed to transfer temporarily to
another time slot pending availability.
6. If you are unable to come for your scheduled hemodialysis session, you are requested to
inform the Dialysis Unit as soon as possible.
7. If you fail to come for your hemodialysis session for 3 consecutive sessions without
informing the unit, your time slot will be forfeited.
8. You may bring your own food. Only patients are allowed to eat in the treatment area.
Companions are not allowed to eat inside the treatment area
9. In case you will be travelling abroad, inform the dialysis staff and Nephrologist as soon as
possible so that records and documents can be prepared.

10. If you need to be admitted after your hemodialysis session, you will be brought to the
Emergency Room (ER).

D. EMERGENCY CASES
1. For medical reasons, a patient who need to undergo an urgent out-patient hemodialysis
treatment out of regular time slot without informing the dialysis unit ahead of time, need to
proceed to the Emergency Room (ER) first where patient will be evaluated and
stabilized. Your Nephrologist will decide if you are medically stable to undergo out-
patient hemodialysis treatment.
2. An additional fee or STAT fee will be charged on the following circumstances.
a. Unscheduled hemodialysis treatment during business hours until 5pm.
b. Emergency hemodialysis starting 4 PM from Monday to Saturday onwards until
Sunday, including official holidays
c. Unscheduled elective hemodialysis on holidays.

E. DIALYZERS
1. The unit and its medical team would like to lessen the risk of infection and/or cross
contamination. In accordance with this, the unit will not allow patients to use dialyzers that
have been used outside of the unit and will not allow dialyzers used within the unit to be used
in other dialysis units.
2. Additional Php1,200 will be charged for every new dialyzer used.
If a patient uses up the above mentioned supplies and requires use of additional items, he/she will be
charged a fee per item.
